I don't care about how goofy he is, whenever Tsitsipas plays well, he is an absolute joy to watch

He's a beast on clay he could definitely win this tournament and rg as well
feels like Monaco all over again. Great momentum from Stefanos!
Tsitsipas first set was 🔥
Good to see Tsitsipas doing well on Clay. He has some good shots and his tactics are good too. So long as his back-hand is strong like some of those early shots he'll be a challenge for all players, but just needs to be hitting the back-hand with precision and power (and oc serve well). Norrie is no push-over so a solid game.

Norrie on clay is a pushover. He looks awkward on this surface
Observing Tsitsipas lately, I think the key is the backhand. His opponents constantly play him there because he plays with one hand and is generally considered a weakness. On clay courts, which are slower than other surfaces, if he finds a good backhand, he is invincible because he is very good on the forehand and serve.

Everyone's backhand is the weaker side. Every tennis player plays constantly to the opponents' backhands. It's just 101 tennis.

I can't figure out how Norrie still reaches this stage of a tournament. Struff was a much meriting opponent against Tsitsipas.
Those drop shots! Get it Stefanos!
TSITSIPAS SUPERSTAR 🤩🎾👌
Battle of the Backhands: The Shovel (Norrie) Vs The Shank (Tsisipas), although the single-hander has been timing it much better lately (at least on the clay)
Stefanos Tsitsipas is so brilliant. He brings so much joy ❤
Μπράβο Στέφανος ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Stefanos is looking great off both sides. His drop shots have become fabulous looking like Carlos Alcaraz on the drop shot.
Those drop shots…amazingly good

Hands down the weirdest back hand currently on tour. His fore hand is also strange the way he positions his non dominant hand. This dude just has weird strokes all around.

It's actually a decent backhand - just extreme biomechanical technique on both wings. At his best his shots are very consistent and solid shot-making variety. Got over-powered and out-paced by Tsitsipas along with Tsitsipas producing more angle direction so Norrie could not adjust in time a lot of shots. I don't enjoy the spectacle of Norrie's game but it does a job when he's in form. Not often an easy game against him.

@@commentarytalk1446 He did very well with it when he hit the scene but I think that other players have figured out how to play against him and the game has only seen more pace and spin the last few years.

A bit strange editing sometimes. 5-5 in second set and next point at 6-1 in tiebreak???
Bravo Stefane 🤒
Compared to Norrie, Tsitsipas' backhand looks as if it were designed by angels
Looks like the plan is to force Norrie to play a high backhand. With his flat backhand hitting the ball above shoulder, you can attack however you like

@@ale3hs Reached top 8 in the world. Imagine being that good that you could do that at anything! Amazing. 5 ATP tournament wins. Sure, Tsitsipas and many others have better records, but Norrie is hardly a mug. I think you could also argue he's maximised his potential. Doesn't necessarily have the natural racquet skills of others, but still has achieved a lot. That commands respect. So your couch potato hyperbole is unnecessarily harsh. But anyway, as I said before, he shooked Tsitsipas' hand, and said some congratulatory words. Seemed very similar to 100s of other over the net interactions.

Tough match as a tennis fan for me. Couldn't decide which one of them I wanted to lose more.
Norrie looks like he is channeling White Goodman from Dodgeball with the latest haircut
love watching Norrie lose haha! He gets so salty and isn't gracious at all
Stefanos has found his mojo...
Norrie and Medvedev should learn from each other. Norrie hits his backhand as if he expected the ball to land 2m away from him; Medvedev hits his as if he expected the ball to land 20cm away.
I didn't realise how much of a weakness the Norrie backhand was until somebody mentioned it last year, but wow it can really be exploited, its a soft pushback of a shot, might as well slice instead

"Entertaining clay court point." LOL
Norries backhand isn't terrible. It suits his game perfectly by being rock solid consistent and completely contrasting his very loopy forehand. Can help offset the rhythm of his opponents. You don't get to #8 in the world with a terrible backhand.
Watching Norris’s backhand makes me uncomfortable, it’s like it’s in the uncanny valley
Salty Norrie at the shake. Almost seems typical? 😅
I met him at Christopher Street Day with his friend.... Boys, he is taken
At this level you have to have a topspin backhand...if not then a flat backhand that is very heavy..Norrie has neither

Norrie - one of the worst technical players, IMO. From his weird serve motion to his way over the top forehand movement. Not a bad player but i dont think he will ever win a GS with that.
