Key1 and key2 wires send out 5V from the android unit and it watches a voltage drop on either (when a button on your steering wheel is pressed simulating hooking up a resistor). Some vehicles separate the buttons into 2 wires. In that case, you need 2nd wire. Chances are you will need just one wire (key1 or key2). I have an Atoto A6 and there is no ground wire dedicated to this circuit. Just use the main ground (black wire.) This picture shows what white pin 3 and brown pin 11 are (remote control and remote control ground): www.odyclub.com/cdn-cgi/image/format=auto,onerror=redirect,width=1920,height=1920,fit=scale-down/i39.tinypic.com/2rpbaxu.jpg

Oh, if it doesn't work (that is ATOTO doesn't see your button pressed), try grounding the 2nd wire (key#+ or key+) at least (temporarily).

Many thanks, you saved me some bucks...and frustration. I didn't have the second black ground wire on my radio so I tapped into the main ground and presto :)

at 5:33 brown wire with black stripe labeled KEY2 goes to pin 3 (doubling with what looks like the white wire in back of harness) and black GROUND wire goes to pin 11 (doubling with a different brown and black wire) The TEXT OVERLAY shows pin numbers as if you are looking into the front of the harness. But the video shows the BACK of the harness, so the numbers are flipped: in the video the lower right corner is pin 1 left empty, pin 2 looks like an orange and black wire pin 3 has two wires- white on top and brown/black stripe labeled KEY2 pin 11 is in the top right corner has solid black GROUND wire and (another wire)

Thanks for sharing your video. Just bought the Maestro SW for my Forester and have everything ready to go and got to the 7 wire plug on the module. Did you push the wires into the vehicle wire harness with the existing wire in the slots?

Hi Dean, Thanks for the great video! I have a question, I am trying to connect 10.1 Android system to my Mercedes Vito 2016. How can I identify where to connect KEY1 or KEY 2 (two brown cables) on my main connector? How were you able to identify that it goes on your PIN 3? Thanks for the help in advance.

Hi, I have Honda Odyssey 2006, tried to install Boss DVD player which has three wires for the steering wheel. The colors are, Balck, White - Key 2 (plain- there is no black line) and brown Key 1 (Plain- there is no black line). I tried to connect exactly as you described it on your video. But, it's not working. Can you give me some more idea about how to connect it? Again, thanks for the video.

I looked up your radio and it appears to have a different software setup than mine. you will still have to program each individual key but it is done differently.

If you are using a mobile device, request the desktop/PC mode or watch on a PC. There is an annotation @ 5:33 that shows the pin out of the radio connector. Brown to pin 3 black to 11.

Hi, Thanks for your reply. Yes, I connected exactly as described on your video. But, the brown wire (Key 1 ) doesn't have the black line. And one more white wire name Key 2. I tried both wires on the same pin 3 and black to pin 11. If you find any solution for this Boss system, please let me know. Thanks
