Steerbox removal Isuzu Jackaroo Bighorn

This vehicle has a 50mm body lift which gives you plenty of room to remove the steering box through the wheel arch guard. On a standard vehicle, you may have to remove the bottom radiator hose to jiggle the box down and out between the chassis rail and engine.

good day, I am having a terrible time finding a seal kit for this steering box. I was wondering where you got yours from, hopefully, it was not locally as I live in the Bahamas. please let me know if you have any helpful information, thanks.

That's what the jam nut and screw is for on top. Looseness in the steering can be caused by steering knuckles, loose spline nuts, worn splines or loose steering arm mounts on the axles. Check all these by physically moving them side to side...if you can feel any side movement, the problem is probably there. The steering box adjustment only gives you a little bit of adjustment. Be careful adjusting this though, its a recirculating ball system and this screw/jam nut can put a lot of pressure on the recirculating balls and chambers which will damage the steering box if over tightened. I generally loosen the jam nut a tad, turn the screw a little and try the steering play then back again until its still turning easily.
