    Yep, that’s truly magnificent, this is alright but far too tame for my taste. I can’t stop watching the 74 midnight special tracks, that’s truly top of the game imo.

    I remember I was enjoying the view of Back Bay in Boston from a roof top deck and the drinks were going and the "we are so cool vibe" was going. Someone said, "I wonder what the rest of the people do?" This song jumped into my head. Never hung with those people again. Lol

    On this tour, Mike’s band opened the show and then Mike came on to play with Steely Dan for the last 1/4 of their set or so. I was at this concert in particular, and they were incredible.

    They always remained close especially Mike and Don. He was only 21 originally in the Dan and even as a Doobie Mike kept going back recording on Gaucho in 1980 after he won Grammy's with the Doobie Brothers and later when the band split and Don was doing his solo live projects - Rock & Soul Review and Dukes of September... Mike was there.

    Not how it was originally done but this was very slick. See how they sneak it in while you aren't watching? Mike McDonald indeed. Two guys from New York can make such funky sounds that make you wish for more.

    Donald Fagen apparently wanted to draft him as the lead singer as time went on, but Walter veto'ed it: he thought Don's voice was apparently distinctive enough on its own.

    can anybody tell me what year it was? I flew over from germany to listen to Steely Dan in 2005 and saw them open air in Holmdel with Michael, I did not knew before that he was singing that evening. It was great!!!

    Terrible terrible version all the way around. Way bad vocal, and they buried the omnipresent wicked guitar that runs all the way through it. Wouldn't have recognized it without a vid title. My fav all time band too. : (

    This is just awful. First letting Mr walter play the guitar is a mistake, he's no guitar player. Fagen's singing is what made the song. The melody lines on the chorus are also wrong. The rhythm is simply not there. Pathetic.
