This was such an incredible day of Steelhead fishing, my best in several years. It's a big blessing to see these fish in strong, lots of smaller fish indicating possibility of more big fish next year from same brood year!

Whitefish chow on salmon and steelhead eggs... The tribe that runs one of the best steelhead hatcheries here in WA treat whitefish like pikeminnow and just toss em on the bank.

You do have a good point, they will eat eggs for sure but every species does and Pikeminnow are extra aggressive toward fish fry. Whitefish are good to harvest if legal, but wouldn't kill every one like i would a pikeminnow
