As a life-long Steelers fan who watched the birth of the Steel Curtain and the 70s dynasty as a teenager and young adult, but also remember vividly my last phone conversation with my dad on the day we drafted Big Ben because we were so excited...my dad would unexpectedly pass away just a coupe weeks after. Let me just say that Terry will always be THE qb in Pittsburgh. Ben made bad choices off the field and just because he finally figured it out and straightened his act out does not mean he gets a pass on those embarrassments he brought to our beloved Steelers. Ben had a 1st ballot Hall of Fame career and there is no denying that, but there is sooooo much more than that to be a Steeler in high regard.

When it came to Montana and his dynasty era success with Bill Walsh's Niners in the 1980s, it was probably more an issue of jealousy and envy on Bradshaw's part because he saw how well Walsh and Montana worked in concert with another and how more creative as an offensive innovator and genius Bill Walsh was and how Montana's career stats ended up being so much more in terms of passing yards, career TD's, overall wins, and Montana's longevity. Maybe Bradshaw watched Montana for the duration of his career and wondered to himself at times " At several points during my career, I could have posted or thrown just as many yards or TD's as this guy is and actually being encouraged to do so by my HC and he and his HC actually get along". You have to also keep in mind that during the 1980s, Bradshaw worked entirely as CBS sports NFL play-by-play commentator and witnessed new types of QB's being groomed to throw for 350 yards and 4 TD's every game like Dan Marino, Dan Fouts, Joe Montana, Boomer Esiason, Warren Moon, and Jim Kelly.

Bradshaw always had resentment of the quarterbacks who made way more money than him, his first target was John Elway.

Nonsense. Bradshaw was critical of Elway because he (John) was the no. 1 overall pick in 1983, and he forced the Baltimore Colts to trade him, threatening to sign with the Yankees if Baltimore didn't comply. Terry was the no. 1 overall pick in 1970, and he signed with a Steelers team that won exactly 1 game the year before.

Terry is and always has been a flake. I grew up in Pittsburgh and watched Terry play his whole career. He became a great QB, but he was and still is a drama queen. Noll was purposely tough on him to get him to realize his potential. It took quite a while but it worked, but Terry feels that Noll could have treated him better. Terry got his feelings hurt and has never gotten over it. I think this jades his feelings towards Ben who has been a successful QB from day 1 and is also headed to the Hall of Fame. Just my opinion.
