Steel Valley School District - New Elementary School Project

The Steel Valley School District is excited to announce the construction of a new elementary school that will bring the district's elementary age students together for the first time and created a unified K-12 campus.
The new school will be built adjacent to the current middle school/high school campus, replacing the former Franklin Primary building. This rendered video showcases the exterior of the building and its footprint within the community.
Steel Valley has partnered with Pittsburgh-based DRAW Collective to develop this project. DRAW Collective has worked diligently with district administration, the school board, elementary teachers, and members of the community to create a school that emphasizes creative and collaborative learning, provides students with the resources and supports they need to thrive, and ensures the safety and security of all students and staff.
Construction will begin with the demolition of Franklin Primary in the summer of 2024. The new elementary school is tentatively scheduled to open in August 2026.
