SteamPunk Guitar Part 2 - The Great Guitar Build Off Unofficial.

Музыка

This is number two and probably the final part of building a steampunk guitar for the @CrimsonGuitars Great Guitar Build-Off 2020 (Unofficial).
I finished all decorations and the main parts of the guitar.
I might tune some parts later. I will do more sound tests later and try to record it in the mix.
But I can tell now that it is cool for a clean sound, and it is more clear compare my zombie guitar.
But it is not very good for heavy distortion like the zombie guitar, which is much better for that.
No surprise though, single pickups against rail humbuckers, it's kind of expected.

    Really great job! I'm asking how do you change the color of the output jack and the bridge ?

  • @RomanDark

    @RomanDark

    3 жыл бұрын

    I painted them. To paint the bridge I disassembled it. I sand all parts and clean them with acetone. I put a copper spray paint first. Then orange paint to imitate old copper. Then I put black acrylic paint to imitate dirt.

    @@RomanDark that Technique is very interesting. I did something similar in my telecaster, but no colours, It gives a tridimensional effect to swamp Ash, and a really nice touch (smooth as silk). I also burnt my work desk :). Thanks for those videos, they are refreshing. I am now doing a stratocaster with good leaf over vintage white (like if It was gold and painted on top,virgen relic), I want the hardware in Cooper, not sure whether I should plate It, Paint It or use Cooper leave. To relic It I would use ammoniac fumes (in a Tupperware) and Lemon juice, It gets a blue rust, then a bit of torch to blackened It out. These things are addictive.

    Hi, Roman. Can you help me with a Wiring Diagram for the EXA-5 bass? I can't understand the one pitbull gave me because it only has 2 wires and my pickups have 3 wires. All i need is the color of the wires and where they go.

  • @RomanDark

    @RomanDark

    3 жыл бұрын

    it depends on the pickups. there are several possibilities. I think it is better to ask them on the official website. Maybe the pickups are active? and the third wire is power. Or in one case you need to connect two together. In another case, you need to connect one to the ground. How do they look? What colors of the wires?

  • @davidgeorgescu1001

    @@RomanDark they are not active. So one is black . One is red and white . One is black and white. If i ask them they will send me the default diagram on the site. How many wires were there on your pickups?

    @@davidgeorgescu1001 I had only 2 wires. Sound unusual. You mean one wire is black and white wires together? or it's the color of one wire. Interesting. Can you send the photo to my email? My email in "About" tab

    The one thing I would have done different is instead of phillips or straight blade screws, I would have used more industrial looking screws (allen, torx etc.). Also it seams like the intonation is way off? Otherwise you made a very cool guitar. 🎶🎸👍
