This is an awesome idea! My first experience with steam was on my 10th birthday in 1986. I got a ticket to ride the New Georgia Railroad behind S&A 750. That started my love affair with steam. I rode behind 611 and 1218 in the late 80's and early 90's and when I got my drivers license in 92, I started chasing them. Now, my son and I have ridden behind many steam locomotives including 611, 765, 1309 and others and we've chased many more. But in 2018 when my son was 10, we rode behind 765 on the Joliet Rocket. What a trip!! Last year my son and I got to fire 611 at Strasburg and Scott Lindsey was a wonderful teacher and a great guy. I myself have been in transportation with CSX for 27 years, 25 as an engineer. Maybe after I retire in a few years I can get the chance to fire/run a steam locomotive. Keep up the good work!

Amazing Video! I'm just getting started with the FWRHS, and I've been enjoying the time I spend. I love hearing stories and backgrounds of very prominent steam-railroaders and how they got involved, very inspiring. I'm looking forward to future episodes! My grandpa also passed the train "disease" to me at a young age and he's been volunteering with me.

This is great! I have been a life long train fan, who went into the museum field. Long story short, I now run the exhibits at a new railroad museum. Looking forward to keeping up with the podcast and learning as much as I can about modern steam railroading!

Fantastic first episode! Steam Locomotives have always had a special place in my heart since as long as I can remember, and the machines themselves along with the joy, community, and happiness that they bring with them is one of the most beautiful things in the world. Can't wait for more of the podcast!
