I like the idea that Alternate Chalmers didn’t kill anyone until it was necessary, implying that his original goals were to simply enjoy an unforgettable luncheon. If real Chalmers hadn’t shown up, Alternate Chalmers would have just enjoyed some steamed hams and been on his merry way.

All Chalternate wanted was a free lunch. But there is no such thing as a free lunch. So in the end, it had to be paid for with flesh and blood. But it was Skinner's and Chalmer's blood. So even though nobody got what they originally wanted, Chalternate came out ahead of the game.

In Carpenter's "The Thing" the monster does something like this with the blood test. I catched the detail on a rewatch when I knew who was the Thing. Since then I've found the thought of an alien creature learning and asimilating casual human speech and mannerisms so easily, utterly horrifying.

That's actually a _really_ good premise for a plot. Everything is normal until one day, bam, there's suddenly, like, vampires or something, and everyone knows who they are so they can't hide and it's all out war. Why now? Why didn't they stay hidden? Because some gullible vampire believed a lie from a normal human and spread it to all the other vampires, and humanity figured it out before the vampires did, causing the vampires to out themselves. The war ends up taking both sides by surprise, so neither is properly prepared but they can't back down either. In fact, forget plot, this would make for a good TTRPG setting. When everything is in chaos like this, adventure hooks are aplenty.

I know many people have already done this, but it makes me feel good writing what I think happened sometimes. Principal Skinner invited Superintendent Chalmers over for some Steamed Hams. An alternate took the form of Chalmers and got there early, and either somehow misheard or just presumed he meant "steamed clams" but was confused to find out Seymour calls hamburgers steamed hams. Then, someone rang the doorbell. Seymour was confused and so was the alternate, until the person said "Well Seymour, I made it." And then he realised. The person infront of him might not be Chalmers. He probably didn't get to leave his seat, since the blood was on the table, but he called out his name, and the alternate killed him and put his body in the oven. Chalmers walked in and gave a smile because he thought Seymour was ok, but caught on to his weird behaviour and tried to leave, but got killed. The house is now burning and the alternate makes its way up to Agnes' room and kills her. Edit: removed mistakes and reworded parts.
