STEAM TRAINS AT STOGUMBER AND BISHOPS LYDEARD WEST SOMERSET RAILWAY
This took place on Easter Monday 2024 which finally turned wet again! We were impressed by how far those volunteers at Stogumber travelled to spend a day volunteering at the station.
We had hoped to hear some news about Shirl who has spent so much time there, but they have no news following her operation. We wish her well and hope she gets well again soon.

Stogumber, such a lovely station from which to rekindle the memories of the rural stations of the past, 'silence after steam' indeed.

Another interesting video Mike. From what I experienced of the Easter weekend it seemed to have been very successful with a lot of passengers and people just visiting the stations. Weather not too bad either

Mike...good video....**Regarding Shirl Turner , she has cancelled all her future volunteering Tuesdays at the station to the end of the season.....If before that time She feels well enough to come back then we'll all see her again....at this time ongoing recuperation.... Steve.

Creo que es un Lugar muy lindo , lleno de tranquilidad y paz, todos son amigos desde hace años, y es muy lindo escuchar sólo el ruido de los pajaritos, creo que hace falta nada más un toque de un pequeño comercio en relación a las visitas del tren , esperalos con un buen té o café caliente , un trozo de Kuchen tipo alemán de manzanas o queque Ingles con frutas, por un par de Pounds , estaría muy bien , gracias , felicitaciones
Question: I am in NE Florida. Love steam trains. I am not sure how long this particular trip lasts. Do they serve refreshments to the passengers, can you bring your own food on board? Just curious. Would love to visit and take a trip one day. Enjoy your videos.

you would love it, we go on it a fair bit though out the year,we live 10 mins away,

it takes one hour twenty five minutes to travel from one end of the railway to the other. There is a buffet car in the train which serves snacks and drinks. You are quite free to take your own food to enjoy. There are cafes at either end of the railway too.
