same here, just started having this issue, Cache clearing didn't work. But, I suppose it up and decided it didnt have permission so, restoring defaults seems to be the way to go. Still working in 2024 on Windows 11, just click "show more" the on the second Allow Access pop up then select both public and private networks.

Dude I was actually considering wiping my computer completely and reinstalling steam because I thought one of the files were corrupt or something thank god I found your video. Clearing cache worked for me

I fixed it! I had to do a "soft reinstall" of Steam. Here's what I did: 1. Exit Steam. (Steam was also crashing every time I tried to exit) 2. Open the Steam directory folder in Program Files. 3. Delete everything EXCEPT for the folders "steam" and "steamapps" and the file "steam.exe". 4. Do a complete reboot of the computer. 5. Start Steam by using "steam.exe" in the directory folder. I had to reset all my settings, but it worked!

I have different problem with some game. When I press "play", game start running, but in the background. Nothing to see, nothing to show up. I dont wats the problem at all, because it is only one game that make this happened. It doesnt open it simply. I dont know what to do.

Unfortunately it doesn't worked, I'm downloading 10 seconds the game than I'm downloading at 0 bites and so on So damn frustrating

Still does not work. I’ve tried every common “5 fix options” including change location, clear cache, full screen, and so on. I thought this would work but it hasn’t. Do I need a separate mod manager apart from steam workshop? I’m at total loss

whenever i try to download a game steam says i have no internet connection, but I can play games online and even chat with someone

This actually worked thank you so much dude I was trying to download Hitman and it stopped downloading near 1gb but this fixed it thank you so much

mine still didn't work.. It just says resume I click it and it says something but it goes so fast back to the resume button I can't see it.

How did u lo back in after I cleared my cache I can’t log back into my account

Sniper Elite 5...it just won't go to v1.04 for me. I own a legal copy (ROW key) on Steam and none of the 3 steps shown in the video works. Neither changing the download region. The game rests at v1.02 (shows date 25-May-2022 in-game). How silly...

Idk what is happening today on stream for me but i cant update any of my games they get stuck in installing and i have tried all of this for it to not work for me

i figured it out you have to run steam as administrator then clear cache, it shouldn't crash if you ran steam as administrator. hope this helps

Cheers, mate. Clearing the download cache worked. I'm honestly bewildered by how awful the Steam client is. It should clear this automatically to prevent these problems.

I can't believe to what extent disabling the windows firewall would change my stability in terms of MB/s, cruising at a good 12 now!! Also keep in mind that even if youre loading a comment section or something minor, it'll affect Steam since its already causing us problems, the less loading of any sorts while the download is going the better! Cheers :)
