I thought that rule stood for any size piece paper, I'm going to have to check now......

@@lloydbeesley3806 I mean obviously the size of the sheet matters as well as the thickness, but typically "notebook" size just seems a reasonable compromise since the largest someone is going to find beyond that is maybe large canvas paper. The concept is based around after 7 folds, there is no longer enough surface area to make another fold. To do it with notebook-thick paper and by hand, you'd probably need sheets at least over 10 feet long.

not even close to the same universe in scale. A earthquake is the equivalent of billions of those power hammers slamming at the same time. It is using entire weight of a tectonic plate slipping and then hitting another as the "hammer"
