Steam Deck OLED vs Steam Deck LCD WiFi Speeds Tested

Ғылым және технология

I have been seeing multiple posts on my SD groups about how the new OLED model is no faster than the LCD model, or even slower.
If any evidence was given for the claim it was usually a picture of them downloading a game from the Steam Client.
This testing is inherently flawed in many ways, even an internet speed test is not a super reliable way to test between the two as you have variables out of your control.
Using the same techniques I have used as a network engineer to test, diagnose and troublshoot networks.
I put the OG Steam Deck up against the new OLED Steam Deck to see if their really is any difference in the speeds.
The video says the rest, so hopefully the next time you see someone making a false claim, you can share this video as your evidence to spread good informaton instead of letting false information further spead.

I regularly download games at around 60MB/s (480Mbps) and my router is only Wi-Fi 5. The CPU goes over 90% usage while downloading Steam games so I think it's the perfect speed.

90% cpu caused by unpacking while downloading, its the hardest part
