It might be steam tinker launch having issues, try using this to fork the trainer instead kzread.info/dash/bejne/d6eJvJOPkrupY5c.html.

I followed the steps but when I started the game I was hit with "Unhandled exception has occurred in you application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately. Invalid window handle" If I press continue it opens up the program but all the mods aren't there, the screen is blank. What do I do?

Is it an issue with the trainer you are using? Try a different trainer.

I got it to work with Nioh 1. Only issue is that the list of cheats is large and the ones i want are at the bottom, off screen - there doesnt seem to be any way to scroll down to get them & the keyboard shortcuts dont really work in handheld mode as far as I can tell. Decent method for some games I guess.

Hey man. Just joined the steam deck band waggon thanks to your videos and tutorials. Thank yo so much for that. Thing is I still can't seem to get trainers to run on the steam deck, either using the cheatdeck way or the steam tinckerlauncher way. I know for a fact the trainer works when I use it on my PC, but it won't launch on the deck. And yes I enabled developer mode, but doesn't seem to work. Is here something I'm doing wrong? Just a side not. the non steam game was added via steam, didn't use lutris or heroic.

Try downloading another trainer. Maybe even try downloading the trainer I used in the video just to make sure your setup is good. It's most likely the trainer issue. Even if it works on pc doesn't mean it works on steamos.

Yeah I can go to the menu and the trainer opens, but instead of the game launching it keeps opening the Rockstar games launcher installer, I go through the install process and when it is done installing, says game data not found. And exits.

You can use wemod on steam deck. I have tutorials on my channel to install that. Also, lots of trainers on wemod are by fling. I'm not 100% sure they are safe but my steam deck is just a gaming device. I don't put any important stuff on it or do any e-banking or any passwords login. Try to separate that stuff. If in doubt, don't do it.

Some stand alone trainers don't have the slide bar which is a pain. And can't change the toggle key which steam deck can toggle the numpad numbers. It's just that way. That's why I like to use wemod but not everyone can install wemod. Happy New Year 🎊

Hey, having an issue and I was hoping someone could help? Set it all up, but when I'm in gaming mode and I switch windows to the trainer, I can't press anything. Touching the screen doesn't do anything, and holding Steam + Right Pad I can move the mouse around but clicking does nothing. I've checked and confirmed the game process name is not flashing. Game in question is Nioh. When I close the game it lets me interact with the trainer window.

I just tried it with Resi Evil 1 (and a non-fling trainer) and same thing. When I hold Steam + Right pad and move the mouse in the trainer window, I can hear the games menu highlight changing as I go up and down, so it seems the game stays in focus even after I switch windows.

It all working but i couldn't click it (the cheat) with my track pad..how do i settings that

Grinding in the vast majority of games is the most boring part of the game though. I guess I’m too old and have too many responsibilities… the second a game doesn’t feel fun it gets turned off immediately, even if it’s only been on for less than 5 minutes

In game mode, press steam button, go to settings, system, there's an enable developer mode setting, turn it on.
