Steam curved bench twist
I’m always challenging myself to to learn new skills. Seeing as I have already done some wood bending projects, I wanted to add the 3rd dimension by bending and twisting the wood at the same time. Using form stable resin glue was important to counter the recall forces and the project wouldn’t have been possible without it.

An upvote just isn't enough for this. At multiple points i found myself saying out-loud "wow" or "no he didn't, that's amazing" or "that's brilliant". I will forever strive to create a piece as elegant and inventive as this.

Well said my sentiments also.
The editing for this video was perfect. Thanks for not putting music over the action....the action speaks for itself, and hearing the 'making' noises is much better than music. The project itself is light-years beyond my woodworking skill....this bench is absolutely a work of art. Congratulations!

Honestly the "steam curve" got me like "wow😱😱". Am a carpenter from Uganda 🇺🇬 but seeing how sophisticated you guys are at your work shops with all those machines, leaves me in an amateur position. Great work

Man I've done a lot of wood work in my time. I'm 66 years old and I can't remember a time when I didn't work wood. You are the shit. All by hand, your amazing. I don't hand out complements like this, ever. My hat is off to you. Well done, very well done
You’re not human, or you are the Leonardo Da Vinci of this generation. You have a great photographer (videographer) that knows how to give emotion to all this. Where are you? This earth need more of your talents. (Passion) I loved every second of this video (sound and images talk) 👍

You may not post as often as others, but when you do, it's always amazing!
Thank you SO MUCH. For showing the whole process including building the jigs & how they worked. So many KZreadrs claim to show you how something was done & then leave out so many important details. GREAT WORK ! In not only doing this beautiful project , but clearly showing us how it ALL was done in the video ++++

Stunning ! How PROUD you must be to have achieved such an amazing level of skill and artistry at your craft. This is without a doubt one of the most fascinating projects I have seen in woodworking~! Bravo !
This project has a level of detail and complexity that really left me speechless.
No music, No talking, just the sound of a craftsman at work. this turned out amazing!!!!

18:34 - One can tell a true master of the craft just by looking at the joy in their expression while finishing a piece. Pure magnificence.
This not a bench, this is a piece of art.
Wow, now this is a professional artist. l'm blown away by the dedication and attention to detail, the methodical workflow, the perfection! A true master of woodworking.
So creative and skilled… a 50k USD twisted bench… pure pleasure watching
1 minute of video. I'm already impressed by the cutter trick.

This belongs in the Museum of Modern Art. An absolutely stunning masterpiece. Thanks for sharing the process.
This is the ultimate combination of art and craft. I would buy it and place it at a prominent part of my living room just to look at it every day.

This could fit right into a MoMA collection. Beautiful.
This isn’t next level, it is celestial - from another world! Absolutely incredible!
I watch a lot of woodworking channels, never seen anything remotely like this. This is par excellence.
WOW that is beautiful, what craftsmanship‼️
As a lifetime carpenter, I salute your ability to plan and execute this piece of artwork.
This bench deserves to be in a museum, of at the very least as a centerpiece of a modern mansion. The design is so simple but stunning and an example of masterful workmanship. My respect, I‘ve never viewed benches as beautiful or as designpieces before
Что делает мастера мастером: это его голова, инструменты и чуточку фантазия. Оказывается есть ещё мастера работающие с рубанком, фуганком и т.д. Молодца !!!
This is exactly how KZread should be done. No click bait, no trigger words-just the most casual title ever-but you let your skills and your work do the talking. Very impressive; well done.

I do not know if I'm more impressed by what you created, or by the visuals of the efforts you put into it. This was beautiful from every angle, and the bench itself would be befitting in any gallery alongside the art hanging on the walls. Thanks for sharing this!
that tip with sliding the rail using break away knife blade was BRILLIANT!
The planning that must have gone into this, then the engineering, precision with the execution to the completed workpiece, awesome work.
Engineering the fixtures for the bends is impressive, what vision you have. Absolutely stunning.
I was thinking about making a steam curved chair today but I have no steam or wood or the tools and no skills. But what I do have is KZread and your video. Great video.
this is a piece of art man! flawless design, I'm blown!
I have never seen such a gentle bench! 😊 She is beautiful, indeed!
I have studied mechanical engineering, so usually working with all kind of metal, but only wood is giving these unbelievable possibilities and if someone is that creative and owning the woodworking skills in that depth I am completely impressed. It is nearly too beautiful, for being used, just to sit on it.

My grandfather was a great carpenter, a true artist, I try to follow in his footsteps, but seeing his work I realized that I have never seen anything like it. His work is sublime, congratulations!!!
This aint a piece of furniture this is a piece of art
L'ART DE L'ART, toutes mes félicitation Mosieur L'ARTISTE, SIGNEZ VOTRE ŒUVRE ET VOUS VOILÀ DANS L'ÉTERNITÉ PARMI LES GRANDS. BRAVO.
I love how this guy mixes old school and new school. Such a unique way of attacking different tasks. One thing is for sure, I can never hope to be this good at anything in my life.
That is an extraordinarily exquisite piece of furniture. To have the extraordinary vision to know you can create that, and then actually do it is the work of a very skilled and inspiring craftsman. Absolutely beautiful!
WOW. This is the most impressive piece of woodworking I've seen in a long time. Beautiful design and *incredible* execution. Bravo!
That bench belongs in a museum!
I wouldn't want to sit on something so beautiful. I would just display it as an masterpiece of functional art.
This is clearly where true craftsmanship and brilliant artistry meet. Absolutely gorgeous work.
A bench that refused to be just a bench and went further to become a sculpture. That's a bench with spirit.
This bench is a piece of art and is the first one I have seen that I would have in my yard.
some art just blows you away with it's orignality and forces you to pause and cherish it's beauty. This is one such art.

The Technique you used to Twist the Wood is CRAZY Beautiful 👍
Dude that spacer thing you did to adjust the saw track was genius and so simple. I really can't believe I've never thought about doing this if I needed to adjust. Beautiful bench too!
Absolutely great build! Your skills and craftsmanship are fantastic! Thank you for sharing.
Great looking bench!
If Michelangelo built a bench, that would be this! What a piece of art!
Fantastique travail. Incroyable d'ingéniosité, de technique et de sens esthétique. Bravo!
Art and craftsmanship all rolled into one!
Just amazed at so many of the techniques on display here.
Brilliant!
it's always a pleasure to see a person that *exudes* competence
Im never going to look at a boutique item of furniture and scoff at the price ever again. Pure craftsmanship, pure art, pure skill and talent. Just wow.
Dude breaks out a hand plane, instant respect and sub. Stellar work. Think I’ll just pop out and burn my woodshop down right now.
Gads, this may be the most beautiful bench ever made...
Form, functionality and elegance. Stunning.
Outstanding design.
Such a relief to see you sit on it!

thank you for your service. this is beautiful
Happy to be here for it. Thank you.
I have no words. The thought behind it. The lines. The craftmanship. It us beautiful
In a field where technology is becoming more and more prevalent, this shows what can be accomplished by a true craftsman with an innate understanding of the material he works with.
I’m not sure what is more fascinating, the tools and techniques or the result. Amazing!
Just the concept and building of the custom tools to form the actual workpiece is amazing. And thats not furniture - it's an art sculpture that happens to be a seating-accommodation.

Absolument magnifique ! Un chef d'oeuvre.
Spectacular and Amazing. Work of Art. And your smile, shows your approval.
You should make more twisted wood furniture, make a website and sell them as luxury designer furniture. For this one I would add extra legs for practicality, so that it's not so fragile in the middle. Really beautiful work of art, and I would buy them from you if I had the money. This bench could definitely sell for $10,000.

To prevent thin cuts from dropping into your saw: retract the saw blade all the way, and then stick a strip on painter's tape over the throat plate slot. Start the saw and raise the blade though the tape to the height you need. Easy!
