You stayed really near to a food centre that is called Golden Mile. The food centre serves really great local food like hokkien mee (fried prawn noodles), tangyuans (sweet rice ball dumplings). I know you love chicken rice, the food centre even has a chicken rice stall that has snaking queues and it's my favourite one!

I am enjoying your videos. You're a talented videographer and you stayed so close to where I stayed when I was in Singapore! BTW...it must take you awhile to go anywhere when you are having to constantly put your camera on the tripod and walk past an area for the shot >.< lol

I can imagine you having to walk back and forth awkwardly to set up those shots of you opening all of those doors just to get to the bathroom! 🤣🤣

Yay more Singapore videos...love that you tried real local foods and hawker centre when you’re in town. There are myriad of hawker centre you should tried Janice, Maxwell Food Centre, Old Airport Hawker Center, Tekka Centre, People Park Food Centre, Golden Mile Food Centre, Geylang Serai Food Centre. Anyway keep up the great food and travel videos, you’ve got a fan. Stay Singapore longer and you’ll really get to try different foods.

Awesome review! Thinking of staying here for 3 weeks and was deciding between a side pod and the single suite. For 50% more in cost it seems the suite is worth the extra comfort, especially having a desk. I'm afraid if the lobby / business pods downstairs may be full often or if it's hard to connect to the wifi down there. One question, can you pull the desk out at all in the suite or is it attached to the wall?

Travel Tip: 4:05 Your Capsule Pod Room Tour - Power point. All my overseas trips have generally been where I stay at hostels where there is generally only a single power point, so I invested in a power board. Just plug your travel adapter into the power point and plug your power board in and "Bob's your uncle" you can charge multiple things at once.

Never stayed in a capsule hotel, but they have always been fascinating to us! They seem like a super affordable option in Singapore 😄Girrrrrlllll you need to get yourself a power cube! It has honestly changed our lives when travelling. They have 4/5 power points and 3 USB points! You can charge EVERYTHING at once using just one powerpoint and they wrap up so small!!! Anyways this place looks awesome and we can't wait to watch more of Singapore 😄

Welcome to Singapore! There’s another area called Katong where they sell chicken rice (Delicious Boneless Chicken Rice with free soup like peanut soup). As a local I love to go to the hawker centre at Marine Parade as well where there is a lot of variety:)

So cool you got invited to that hotel. More charging plugs would be nice, but not bad at all. We use ear plugs regardless. That's too early for breakfast. Haha But those prawn noodles, yum!

Your meals always look so good (Delicious)! Reminds me of all the wonderful food I ate in Singapore a couple of years ago ;-) Have you seen the square watermelons in the grocery stores? Quite cool! Can’t wait to see your next meal and adventure.

@@JaniceFung I didn’t try it either, they cost around $250 each as I remember. But I had lots of other wonderful food including the Singapore chili Crab which was amazing!

Zam Zam is really good. Next time try the mutton murtabak with fish curry. It's amazing.

I love POD hotels. I'm into just bare bones minal living. Last January I was in a capsule room in Cape Town, South Africa in 91 Loop Hostel. It's amazing. The is also a capsule hotel in Washington DC. Too bad this Corona crisis has totally ruined international travel. I was actually planning a sort of Pacific East Asia/Australia trip. My plan was to go to Japan for a week, and then go to Australia with a long overnight layover in Singapore or Hong Kong. On the way. This was supposed my first time ever in East Asia! Sadly my dreams of happy Anime nerd time in the Akihabara district, were crushed by the CV outbreak. Maybe one day the Japan dream will finally come true.

Yeah ! Can use Cc there instead of ez link and I wasn’t charged foreign transaction fees cuz I was using the 28 degree card

This capture hotel is more our style. Do you know if only single guests are allowed or are the rooms for couples? Looks clean and modern. I totally get the need of having to go back to a destination to cover more ground. We just returned to Texas for the same reason. Haha

Janice Fung yes local groceries have them. You can also try iced Yakult teas at Koi or any bubble tea shops.

is this hotel suits for quarantine for foreigners that just came back to singapore?

I never been to Asia yet and love pod hotels. There is nice one in Washington DC. Also I stayed in a capsule room in Capetown South Africa.

Thank you so much for making this video, as a result i have booked the same room type at the same hotel in 2 weeks from now, i was looking for a budget but private option for a 1 night transit between melbourne and bangkok. Having previously lived in singapore i am familiar with beach road and this is an excellent location for food which is always the best reason for a Singapore stopover.

@@JaniceFung so i tried the capsule pod suite. Was nice and clean. My experience wasnt the greatest not because of the hotel but the person in the suite next to me whos bunk was above me got up to pack and leave at 5am and i could hear everything as they weren't very quite about it. If this place could offer sound proof suites it would be amazing, overall experience was good but on the way back through sg i switched to yotel so i could be assured a great nights sleep. Keep up the great work Janice, love your videos

bit expensive, Budget1 in Geylang is better and got own bathroom too.. also even more cost effective is a tent on East Coast Park and wake up to the Sea View much better..

Since you love chicken rice, I recommend you to eat at “Evertop Hainanese boneless chicken rice” it taste delicious and the chicken is superbly juicy 👍🏻

HAN Cafe is the best cafe to visit is in the Business district and you stayed in the shiftiest area of Singapore..

Are the rooms in separate sections by gender?

one of the better travel tips is to take a power board with you. ideally, get one with usb ports.

Hmm depends of one's interests...we stayed first in Little India, it was good. Chinatown isn't bad. Our friends stayed near Haji Lane and it was nice too. Our housesit was in Newton... Plenty of good places to choose!

The best places are in and around Bugis area (where you stayed) It's also kinda in the middle of Singapore to places of interest. But it depends on each Traveller and preferences😊

This vid is timely, Janice! Hitting SG for U2 concert and was initially booked at my fave #poshtel, Adler Hostel, but it is in Chinatown and The Pod is nearer to concert venue. Was not able to score a Pod Suite as it was already booked, but got myself a pod at the female dorm. Thanks!
