See, Milner knew his time was up, he went there, worked hard, won eveything, understood the midfield needed freshening up and moved on gracefully. Henderson, however got offended, moved to Saudi, made an awful mistake. Looks stupid. Difference was how they dealt with the situation and Milner handled it better.

Liverpool fan. At the end, Henderson he had an ego and that disingenuous, classless interview made clear he felt he deserved to be a starter at age 33 when he was holding the team back. Seen him berating teammates like Alisson when he was performing like shite. He gave a classless interview and seemed to diminish what Klopp had done for him; which was show him great loyalty for many years, beyond his prime. Reality is Klopp was loyal for too long when Henderson was putting in pretty wretched performances. James Milner was a servant to the club and the superior player. He’d play anywhere but accept a bench role in his senior years, recognising his limits. Henderson wasn’t prepared to do the same (bench role) and rather than accept that as his ego, he seemed almost petulant and entitled in the way he left. Glad he forced Klopp’s hand on that one, allowing us to revitalise, as the manager had long been too loyal to underperforming players under a stingy ownership.

Agreed. Henderson was a good player who grew into a great leader and better player under Klopp. In the last season or two at his time at LFC, it turned sour. The way he left just wasn't classy. Unlike Sadio Mane, who will always be remembered as legend who gave everything for the club and is class personified...too bad he had to leave us a bit too soon as I love that man, one hell of a player. You can go to the comment section of Mane's "exit interview" basically and see hundreds of Liverpool fans praising him with adoration and respect...all sad too see him go because the club couldn't afford to pay him what he's worth but glad he got a chance elsewhere (I suppose too bad the situation at Bayern didn't work out.)

These players and their families are wanting to leave because it’s a culture clash. Saudi/ Dubai etc is a nice place to holiday in and visit. But not a place to live for a westerner. Sure it’s luxurious but I can imagine the wives and children being dead bored not being able to do the things they did before.

Nope not true. That is just the excuse. They went there to have a short holiday season while pretending to play football and get paid crazy money for no work. It was all a deception. Cristiano is actually playing seriously and look at his numbers. Then look at the other dudes that went there and compare. Henderson, Benzema, Firmino and others went there to put in minimal effort and get paid like kings, then return to europe recharged and richer. They want to live because they still want to play pro football. They just wanted a short holiday and some easy money first.

There are a number of us who move onto a new job, new area, and after a while, may feel out of sorts. You may have to hang in there, get use to the new change, and then when you're more settled, things become easier to understand and learn. So I say Simon is right, Hendo should stay out there, and Simon is right also when he says Hendo was sold a dream, and found it to be becoming a nightmare. All of this had to be reconned and assessed and discussed before making a move. Hendo was told he would be surplus at LFC, and he wanted more play time. An opportunity came along and he leapt before he looked. Now six months on, he wants to return. To where? Who will be interested in him? Sunderland? Everton?? It looks as if he went more for the money, but I feel he went for the money as well as the playability. Would he have gone to the Championship, were he offered the same wages? Surely the Championship is better than Saudi Arabia for quality football? SA sounded like the place to spend your last footballing years, on something like £350k per week, before retiring and investing into something that resembles a pension pot. Six months later, man wants to return to the EPL. Not Italy, Spain, Holland. Back to England. Sterling's gone to Chelsea for his last years, maybe he might pull a Boehly cord for his former teammate.
