Thank you for posting this magnificent, heartfelt, movie! I'm 66 years old, my oldest son was living with me and he "introduced" me to Michael around the time of his documentary from the Middle East. Some years later, I reconnected with a childhood friend who lives in Florida, and we planned to meet...I left NY to see her and spend time in FL, my son was living in North Carolina at the time, met me at her house and we all went to the Sunrise Festival in West Palm Beach where Michael was performing...I made it to the very front of the stage, and loved it! At the end of his performance, he comes down to hug his audience, well who got the first huge hug? Me! my son and my friend could not believe it! He's a beautiful human❤

I'm so glad I watched this. What an incredibly humble man. And the lady who helps birth the babies wow what an amazing woman. Such giving people in this documentary, if I can raise my kids to be even half the humans these people are ill have done a great job.

I definitely found you by a happy accident. It was on a cross country trip in the early 1990s. Some weird tumble thing in the middle of nowhere. I went into this gas station and I decided to buy a CD. It was Spearhead. And I got the blessing to see Michael live in Madison, WI. And I was gifted his beautiful, big hug. Thank you, Michael.

I was a roadie for many years & traveled for music since I was 16 (I'm 51 now). Music feeds my soul. That being said, I discovered Michael Franti about 10 years ago, my husband & I found a soundtrack for our love & lives. We finally got to see him live last summer & it was an actual religious experience for this Naturalist. I am not the same & glad for it. Thank you for sharing the love & inspiring the rest of us to do so to. Stay kind, Stay Human. One Love.

Michael, you are truly amazing. Thank God that you are in this World now at a time when more love and kindness is needed. We lost our 20 year old son Daniel Stephen on July 12, 2021 because of complications due to him having End Stage Renal Disease. He was diagnosed at the age of 15 and was on dialysis for 5 and 1/2 years. He was always doing what was necessary and going through many surgeries and never complaining. Daniel also lost weight to get listed for a kidney transplant. Always sharing his kind heart to many. Daniel wanted to be a professional gamer and he had many friends that thought the World of him. I would greatly appreciate it if you could write a song for him and all the people going through life with illnesses and never giving up hope. When I first heard one of your songs, I knew that you are special.

I became aware of Michael Franti because of his song about peace (singing "You can bomb the world to pieces, but you can't bomb it into peace". Watching this is just what I needed to start off this new year of 2024, which looks like it's going to be quite the ride! We all need a reminder to CHOOSE to stay focused on the simple (and yet, extraordinary) things that humans are doing everyday that are uplifting & inspiring. TURN OFF THE NEWS AND FOCUS ON STORIES LIKE THE ONES THAT HE SEARCHED OUT.

This work is so touching and deeply personal. Michael Franti clearly has a heart that keeps expanding as he continues to make music with social consciousness and political revelation. The question of HOW humans not only survive in this extremely challenging and dehumanizing society, but HOW we retain our humanity, the film answers by example of individuals who Michael Franti has met on his musical travels. Michael Franti opens up about his own experiences as a Black foster baby in his white foster family with all of the dynamics & conflicts that color the human he has become. Ibu Robin Lum, the "Warrior" midwife, is one of the most impressive of the very LOVING and transformative people we meet in this documentary, for she is determined to help facilitate the END of the initial TRAUMA humans experience at birth by creating a sacred space of gentleness, natural harmony, and culturally appropriate ceremony in order to foster an attachment to LOVE, respect for Nature, and rooted PRIDE in one's own Indigenous culture to reverse the terrorism of invasive colonization. Thank you for posting!

HP works in very magical and mysterious ways ❤ I remember when I was a young child my mother had to bring me to the hospital and while we were there I seen a baby in the arms of a kind elderly woman and I said your grandson is so beautiful, her response was "he is not my grandchild I adopted him" and in that moment I just knew.. I turned to my mother and I said I will adopt some day. I also remember another experience when growing up, I was a child always in search of something more, I had a challenging upbringing and never felt truly safe or loved so I often sought connection by trying out different churches as if I was trying on a different set of cloths to see what would fit, yet I could never fully commit to just one because to me they were all just as valid as the next, they all held a piece of the puzzle and some truths and they all had some areas that still needed growth too, much like all humans do, but I remember questioning.. Am I meant to be a Nun? Then I quickly dismissed that notion because I knew deep down that I truly also did want to be a wife and mother some day. Well fast forward to now, I am 43 years old have never been married because I do value that sacred oath and if I ever make it I want it to be for the rest of this lifetime, and I have never had a child of my own, and yet I find myself now living in a church in a two bedroom apartment having glaring moments of my faith being re-affirmed left right and centre, and the thought of fostering a child has been growing more and more within me, then random chance encounters with others who have gone through that experience as children and have sad stories to share and I can't help but think that where I was failed and others were not protected I can now be someone to help mend those cracks by offering a loving safe home to a child in need, and then this pops up randomly and I come to find that a musician and social activist that I greatly admire and love was himself adopted into a family and knows some of the struggles of addiction because of what he has lived through. There are no coincidences in life and although I am not quite ready yet to fully dive into that life altering and enriching commitment I know that as my journey continues it is guiding me and has been all along, and it is starting to come together, I just he to remain open to the signs, willing to grow and continue healing and keep the faith that everything truly does happen for a reason ❤ Do I want to be a single parent, no not ideally, but do I have enough love, empathy, care and a safe home to share with a child in need, absolutely! I share these things because I need to remember when moments like this happen, when I ask for guidance and it comes I must be mindful that life may not fully unfold how I would envision yet it unfolds just how it is supposed to as long as I keep showing up and doing my best and remain true to the inner calling and intuition ❤ May we all have moments like that.
