I agree with you, about a month ago I got my family to watch it and they didn't get. But by far this is one of the best films of all time and by fair my favorite. :)) more people need to check out this film.

Суть в том, что всё действие фильма происходит в голове у главного героя, начало встроено в конец фильма, и Сэм(доктор) пытается удержать в сознании Гари, поэтому он и становится как бы психологом для него, и все люди вокруг него играют различные роли в этом сюжете
