There weren’t any smart phones in the air in those days. We were there for the music and the atmosphere. No time to be fiddling with gadgets 😂
I am 61. Hearing and watching this - I am 16. Thank you.
The Quo I fell in love with. RIP Rick and Alan.
Live from the "cowshed", the Quo of my youth. Great to see and a great reminder of what gigs were like with a hungry young audience. Too much saturation and accessibility has made people bored of live music. I never used to hear conversations going on back then. Now it's sometimes a struggle to find a section of the crowd that don't think their own conversation is more important than what is going on onstage.

Absolutely! Then no ad in the middle of the ROLD solo!
I first saw Quo in 1975 and again in 1977 at Festival Hall Brisbane Queensland. I also saw Queen in 1977 and without doubt Quo were a much better live band. Queen was stunning but Quo live were the best live band I have ever seen. I have seen about 50 other acts in my life including Powderfinger with my now deceased son and all paled when compared. My then 12 year old son in the 1990's was stunned by the force of playing by Quo and loved them also. Rest in Peace my son.

Bless your son mate, glad he got to experience the mighty quo. I saw them in 77, will never forget.
This is the Quo of my youth, seeing them in the mid/late 70's before it all went downhill. The best band to grace the Apollo Glasgow that I saw, including the original ACDC.
That clapping under Don't waste my time is marvelous, everyone hands in the room clapped! Today more cameras up than clapping..
Wow wish I'd seen them in their prime. Drums so powerful and the guitars boom. How people don't like Quo is beyond me. The no1 pure 12 bar boogie band of all time.
I was there. Loudest concert I ever went to.
A friend of mine asked me in 1975, how come I, a musician, liked Status Quo? I mean, he said, it’s so simple! I answered, can you make that many people happy at one time? No? Thanks, that’s why I’ve always loved this band! Because they make me feel good!

Quo right at the top of their game. I think Roll Over was rarely off my turntable. So blessed I saw them so many times over this period. Every gig was on another level in terms of audience and performance. Many happy memories...

This because they recorded live back then. No track recording. Whole equipment into the studio and nail it down.
Blimey I was there! Only just found this. The next day I was doing my mock physics exam in a school gym, my ears were still ringing. Fantastic!
Incredible footage! I’d previously seen a poor-quality copy, but this is absolutely sublime. We need more live footage of the Quo in their prime, i.e. pre-‘82.
Now ….that is Quo!! Absolutely bloody fantastic!!!

Regardless of whether you like or dislike Quo nobody can argue the fact they had the best fans of any band. Their concerts were just sheer joy. Compare this to watching a 25 minute Jimmy Page guitar solo......This is a master class on entertainment.
Absolutely great to see the frantic four in 1977, I also saw them on Dec 9th 1977 at Granby Halls, Leicester with my dad!!, rocking all over the world tour and wow was it loud, love the original Quo, Great memories.
One of the all time great live bands.
Fuck me they were a good bloody band 🤩
Greetings from germany. Those were the days. I would have payed 1 million Deutsche Mark if i could have seen such a live performance back in the late 1970s when i hit the world of QUO after they released the "Whatever you want" album. These are the things i like KZread for! Great. Quo will perform in Wolfsburg (Capitol of Volkswagen) in late june 2024. I'll be there and probably will see "them" there for my very last time. But their great times in the 1970s and their wild and heavy rocking performance will never be forgotten!
Roll Over Lay Down is class.
Great to watch and hear. Nothing better than vintage 70s Quo first thing Saturday morning! Frantic Four! Thank you posting this, I really look forward to seeing more footage like this 🤘
I remember watching this live on TV with my best mate, Pip. We were HUGE Quo fans and this being on live TV was unbelievable!! Up there with Queen's Christmas live from Hammersmith. A very different, and not necessarily a worse time!
Great work to publish this footage in this quality Thanks for sharing this with all fans around the world ! I”ll never forget the good vibes and happiness Quo gave me Quo is so special And it is unbelievable that Francis & Andy are still with us after so many years, respect And still doing a great job And hey I also look and sound different after 50 years😁

@@heavyherti8892 Hello! How cool to receive your comments. Prefacing, I had never heard of Status Quo until Dec 2018. A whole new adventure in rock music, I have made up for a 50 year absence by grooving to them ever since with no sign of letting up. I cannot get enough. That said, I am continually impressed by the fans from all eras. I have seen many artists over the years, and I like to get up and boogie. Alas, I have never witnessed anything like what I just saw in this video. Moreover, you are right about the differences in grooving to guitars and the not-so-smart phone used today. Not just 'the good old days', that's how to rock in any era. Your comments are immensely appreciated. May you keep 'Goin' Quoin'!"

Bingley Hall? That's a laugh. As somebody already pointed out, it was no posh Hall, just a massive cow shed with phenomenal acoustics. Was at this gig and arrived about 3 hours before the doors opened. Attire was faded and ripped blue jeans, white tee shirt and faded blue denim waistcoat (what else?) With tatty plimsolls on ya feet! None of your posh trainers in them days. It was about 2 degrees above freezing but hail and wind chill took it well below zero. But of course, it was all worth it. Quo were THE band to see live and to see 8000 nutcases doing a jig to 45 Hundred Times will live in my memory forever! PS this gig was a Sunday evening and next day at work, my ears were still ringing! I'm 68 now and wear two hearing aids but I don't regret it!
This is going to be amazing....🎸🥁🎵🙌
the best live band ever, the best audiences ever...always left the shows...soaked, aching and deaf. QUO O O OHHHH !
I was there, Daily mirror rock and pop awards, we queued for hours to get in and it was bloody freezing.
I was there for this gig, it was a Daily Mirror pop awards concert and i believe Nutz supported them, this or perhaps Budgie, this among with Cardiff castle are amongst my favorite Quo gigs, ( out of 200 plus )
@georgeakins

Cardiff Castle was a phenomenal gig. I'd seen Budgie a couple of times before so they were a bonus. Hawkwind, Curved Air [with Stewart Copeland on drums) and the Strawbs supported. If my memory serves, Rossi and Parfitt took a stroll up to the top of the old ruined castle steps and were waving at the audience. The audience, of course, waved back!! Hawkwind were on stage at the time and front man, Bob Calvert, was none too impressed 😂
Absolute Gold. Thank you 🙏

I must ve seen them that year in Nurnberg, Germany. This is just like it was.. Loud and raw.. Nothing beat them then. They were on top of their game... My ears rang for days after...

They sound AWESOME.
I hope a complete live recording of the Frantic Four in the 70's or Never too late tour
Is there more footage? Its so powerful they hitn their prime, rockin the hall with the great boogie sound, is there a better way is a punk pro song, fast, heavy, amazing.... the rest of this great show isn't unearthed, hope they do it sooner or later.
Always nice to see upgrades of 70s Quo. In 1976 on New Zealand TV, I saw Quo playing Roadhouse Blues from the Marquee 72 show. All we see of that is Paper Plane and Don't waste my time. There was also footage of Bye Bye Johnny from 72. Hopefully it will surface again before I leave this wirld
brilliant, you can hear the roar energy coming through, yes we want more film of them in the 70;s not like this crap they are playing now,

For me, when they recorded the RAOTW album, that was the end of the best Status Quo sound. I heard the concerts past then were still great, until a certain point. I can't say definitively, but the little I've heard on the net is still Status Quo like enough to enjoy the sound Most Of The Time (I find it amusing that the fans would say No!. Little did they know, it was to be close to a No! in the sound to come. I always thought, All Of The Time! 🙂). It isn't like it used to be, of course. Enjoy life, be ready for heaven, and that there is eternal joy. All the Best.
