Wow! Great video
tysmm for this vid !! so glad to see someone who isn't entirely dedicated to the med track as I also invest a lot of time in business/public speaking as a highschooler and still want to apply to bsmd. also nice to see a fellow congress debater :D

Of course! In some ways I think that having this diversity in your application will actually make you stand out compared to other applicants, BUT you still wanna make sure that a few of your core extracurriculars are medically related.
My King.
FIRE ESSAY spidey 🕷
Can you describe the interview for Union's BSMD program? Like the types of questions asked, format, etc.
how do you apply to bsmd? is it usually individual applications or just thru commonapp
yo just wondering why would u think that ap scholar would be embarrassing? Bc I plan on putting that n idk if it’ll make my application look better or worse 😭😭

Hello!! The only reason I said it was embarrassing is because I took like 14 AP classes/exams in high school, so the fact that I only got the AP Scholar award (not the AP scholar w/ honor or distinction) was just a little disappointing LOL. If your in a similar situation to me I would say prioritize that award much less than other awards you've received. So like in the common app you have 5 spots to list awards just put it as the 5th spot.
I can’t find your common app in the description, but I’m interested in reading it

I got a 1500. Is it over?
@azirnawaz
Жыл бұрын
Definitely not! A 1500 should be high enough to get you past the initial screening process which checks if you have a high enough GPA and SAT, after that it all depends on your essays and extracurriculars.
Did you submit 34?
Isn’t subject test no longer available?

Is volunteering at a hospital vital? You just push people in wheelchairs and deliver meds. Direct Patient contact volunteering would be better
@azirnawaz
Жыл бұрын
In my opinion, while hospital volunteering may not be absolutely necessary, gaining hands-on experience working with patients and in a medical environment is definitely crucial when applying to such programs. As you mentioned, hospital volunteering opportunities can vary, with some programs placing limitations on volunteers' interactions with patients. However, based on my personal experience of volunteering in a hospital during high school, I had the opportunity to interact with patients to a considerable extent and learned a great deal from that experience. So, to answer your question, yes, volunteering that involves direct patient contact is certainly more valuable, and it is possible to find such opportunities within certain hospital volunteering programs.
