Statistics - Random Number Table

This is one of the worst videos I've made - colored pencils are trash... but I hope it is helpful.
Errata: At 8:54 I mistakenly do not include #26 in the sample, when obviously #26 is Zak, and should have been included in the sample. Thanks to Andy seeing the error! Peace.

    What happens if you get to the end of line 120 but you still havent found your 5 numbers would you go to the next line (line 121) or start over in the from the beginning of line 120

    Dwayne, You should just go on to the next line until you find five numbers in the desired interval. All the best!

    Hi Mr. Zak, this is Elaine! :D I started the homework earlier today and got really confused when it mentioned Table D. Then I realized, we needed the table from the book and saw your post on Edline. Still was slightly confused but got it after a while. Thanks for both of your videos though! It helped clarify some points. A round of applause for this hardworking teacher!

    +Shulin LOL XD Yeah, that was a mistake. At 8:54 I rejected 26 when obviously that is Zak. (I am just trying to keep you on your toes... that's my story and I'm sticking to it.) Glad you caught it!

    What makes you take decision to pick from row 120 or any other... help me understand

  • @JohnZak

    @JohnZak

    3 жыл бұрын

    The choice of row is arbitrary, meaning you are allowed to simply pick whatever row you want to use. Since the digits in the row themselves are the result of a random process, any row is an acceptable choice. For the sake of testing sometimes a person is told to use a row, but in actual practice it doesn't matter.

    Good day! On a test or assignment you will probably be told which line to use. In practice, however, it does not actually matter what line you use to start - they are all random numbers no matter what. Unless told otherwise, you can start at any line you want.
