Statistics 101: One-way ANOVA, Understanding the Calculation

So this is the next video in our series about the analysis of variance, or ANOVA. In Part 2 we go into Microsoft Excel and "hand calculate" a One-way ANOVA. We then compare our result to the SPSS output and Excel's own ANOVA tool.
There are several types of ANOVAs. In this video, we will be focusing on what is called the One-Way ANOVA and in a later video, we will discuss the Two-way ANOVA. It is important to note that One-way ANOVAs go by other names such as the Single Factor ANOVA and in experimental contexts, the Completely Randomized Design. These are all basically the same thing.
If you are new to ANOVA or are still trying to figure out exactly what it is...this video is for you. So sit back, relax, and let's go ahead and get to work.

Hello! To find where the differences are, you would have to do a pairwise post-hoc multiple comparisons test like the Tukey HSD, Scheffé Test (equal variances assumed) or Tamhane's T2, Dunnett's C (unequal variances assumed). These are only a few of the tests available out of many. You do those in a stats program like SPSS and it will give you a pairwise table and flag the significant pairs.
