CP (Process Capability) and CPK (Process Capability Index) values do not have a maximum limit in theory. They are statistical measures used to assess how well a process can produce products or services within specified tolerance limits. These values help organizations understand the capability of their processes to meet customer requirements. CP measures the capability of a process to produce products within the defined tolerance limits, while CPK takes into account the process centering (the difference between the process mean and the target value). The ideal scenario is to have CP and CPK values as high as possible, indicating that the process is highly capable of producing products within specifications. In practice, a CP or CPK value of 1.0 or higher is often considered acceptable, but higher values are generally desired to ensure product quality and consistency. However, there is no fixed upper limit for these values; they can theoretically exceed any positive value, depending on the characteristics and performance of the process.

Control limit set based on process and specification limit set by product designer (given in drawing).
