I seriously love Josh's expressions! hahahah And Steph's narration is always fun! The worst offender is hands down number 5! You have no idea how enraged I used to get (not anymore because I know what I like) when I would get an eraser and learn it not only didn't erase but smudged, smeared, made a mess of my paper. So infuriating. You are no eraser! You are a disgrace to your kind! Dishonor for you, your family and your cow!

2:24 I actually like rulers that don't start at zero cause if you overline, then you won't get that skip at the edge where the line is straight then suddenly crooked. Also, if the edges ever get damaged it doesn't mess up the length or the lines cause you have that extra space as collateral.

@2:24: 0 not starting at the edge is a good thing. Overtime, the corners of the ruler will wear, meaning fhe first few lines will become unusable. This will save subtracting numbers later.

Mason R -- exactly. You beat me to it! I do, however, understand their point for _some_ uses. Also - if you use a "Scale" -- NEVER use it as a straight edge. Use it only to measure. Using it as a straight edge wears the markings off.

I’ll add some pet peeves here too! Since these focused on other sides in stationery, I’ll include some for my fellow fountain pen users. - When you see someone online writing with a fountain pen with a death grip. This causes me actual pain… - Ink bottles that have ink gunk around the mouth - When your favorite ballpen runs out of ink and you don’t have a replacement refill - When someone grabs or borrows one of your pens without asking - “Is that a calligraphy pen” - an innocent question from a non-fountain pen user that I hear a lot. Luckily it’s fun to educate them on more of the stationery world

I know I'm late to this, but I think I have some useful knowledge: The rulers that don't start right at the tip of the rulers are build that way for longevity. If the tip breaks off, your ruler is still usable! It's common on rulers and marking sticks that are used in construction.

Added peeves (Yeah, I have a few): 1) The WILD variance in graphite grades between brands (especially if you like Japanese pencils and move to Euro or American brands) 2) Handheld pencil sharpeners that dull quickly forcing to keep twisting away 3) The dreaded ballpoint pen glob when writing (if you use a 1.4 or 1.6mm refill) 4) Gel pens that wick into your pant pockets if even a tiny bit of lint makes contact with the refill 5) Pens with non-standard size refills (and pen bodies that are just oddly narrow so as to not accept other refills)

See, the problem with those 3-ring binders with finger guillotines is that schools often force you to buy those. I had a high school teacher who forced us to buy a really thick one and carry every single assignment until the end up the school year. Did we need to refer to them often? Never! Thanks for the backaches, teacher with hoarder instincts. Have you ever had to use one of those cheapy particle board material clipboards and then they stab you with a splinter? You can add that one to the list.

Rulers have a space at the end before zero because you might keep it a long time, and the end will wear down. That happens more often with wooden rulers than metal, but still.

Biggest headache right now is a Pilot Plumix eyedroppered pen that leaks through the freakin’ nib after writing for about a minute! 🔥☠️🔥

When you spend a little more for a higher standard pen that stops writing after a week....but you buy a super cheap ordinary pen that you use to the end! Have seen how pencils are made & am now ashamed to waste a single pencil. In Japan, children tape two short pencils to lengthen it rather than throw it away.

I got pinched by the 3 ring binder in elementary school. Not until I found out about the Kokuyo slide binder that binders became my favorite notebook type. There are separate ring strips and plastic covers and that allows you to make ring -notebook-style-and-size binders. These notebook size binders is more like regular ring notebooks because you can flip the pages over, more like the Aquadrop twist ring or the Kokuyo smart ring notebook binders, unlike regular binders.

I really hate it when the glue from washitapes doesn't stay in their place and gets the surface of tape below it sticky, and when I can't find the right thickness of pen nib even after having tons of pens 😀

One problem that plagues most Filipino students is a ballpoint pen or a gel pen that stops writing once it falls on the ground, and they really hate that issue!😁🤨

The reason why you should use a nonzero edge ruler: you can see EXACTLY where zero is, not worrying that the end has been worn down and inaccurate.
