Time for some more upgrades. But first, we need a new furnace for super alloys.

With day/night cycle broken (the day counter is stuck due to orbital mechanics not triggering), wind power isn't very viable at the moment, as storms are not being triggered. Its been broken since last update (affects main and beta branches).

Wind isn't worthwhile on Mars due to the low pressure anyway. You can setup an area and inflate the pressure in different ways to make wind functional, but just on it's own it's not worth it on Mars.

Love the videos! I'm brand new to the game and am watching to learn things, even though sometimes it doesn't make sense. HA HA. I do have a question...i'm trying to get my head around the gas stuff...i see in the vid you didn't filter oxygen, just bam straight oxite mix with volatiles. I thought oxite gave off nitrogen as well, or does this not matter? I was also wondering what the pipe cowl does, there doesn't seem to be a wiki about it. I suppose you could attach a fuel cannister thing to this too right? sorry for the questions! great game, just a mind bend sometimes.

Here’s an challenge, if you decide to make a de-gas furnace the input has to be an unloader. And you have to throw your whole mining belt in every time you de-gas your ores.

I would use a mining machine to mine the dirty ore, centrifuge it, sort out copper and pass to an automated arc furnace. Then the arc furnace would chute the copper to the printer. Then I’d automate the printing of cables into a stacker. Nice idea!

Mick - You may want to change your solar panel layout since I have discovered by having them sitting close together they will block the others during sunrise and sunset. Basically losing a lot efficiency. Also, you might want to check the wind turbines to make sure they aesn't reducing your solar efficiency either.

There will always be some loss regardless of the configuration. Summer and winter will require different arrangements so you have to accept some losses. But this is just the starter base. They will be more spread out for the main base.

@@cowsareevil7514 Good to hear since I was surprise that a that an upright wind turbine actually made one solar panel lose 100 watts of power per tick. Also, discover that a solar panel sitting adjacent to another solar panel where both were turned and angled toward the sun actually block the other preventing it from generating any power at all.

@@stormfire962imastarcitizen5 I found placing the solar panels about 3 clicks away from one another gave me good solar coverage. 99% efficiency. @@grimnar6725 Sounds good. As for me on Mars I have my solar panel on every other frame and I always get a full 99% as well. Plus, I have also discovered the solar panels seem to be bugged as well. Since monitoring them at night with no sun I found that some of them started make power at 3 to 5% efficiency which shouldn't be possible. The only this could happen is the ground mesh is a bit bugged or the sun itself is bugged.

Shouldn't the growlight be be set to "less than 270" so it's off for only about 5 minutes? Right now it's off for 10 minutes on for 10 (assuming you're on 20 minute days, the standard setting), but plants only need 5 minutes of darkness. This way the growing speed would increase? Or did something else with the plants change that I'm not aware of?

Call me crazy, but at 6:49, you add 'slt r0 r0 90' which is referring to an angle (i.e. dawn), and in the previous video (kzread.info/dash/bejne/lHaHzcqJk8ivZaw.html ), you set the housing to send the sensor output 'Activate' on the cable which is just a boolean. Did you possibly edit out a bit where you're sending angle information rather than just the sensor output 'Activate'? I don't see how you read the angles in this video otherwise because that set-less-than would always return true (0 or 1 < 90)
