Ойындар

Today it is time to have another crack at the centrifuge automation and then back to the greenhouse for the next stage.

If your centrifuge isn't catching up to the miners, you should add a shutoff to the miners until your silo gets emptied. Turning them back on when the silo has a certain amount into it. That will save a huge chunk of power while the miners are off. It will also shut down the miners if you don't empty centrifuge right away, instead of letting them just redundantly run.

Silo can have 600 items. So maybe below 200 all 3 running Between 200 and 400 only 2 running Between 400 and 600 only 1 running And at 600 none running

Tbh, i kinda suggested to put a stacker prior to silo and ensure stack size is 50 as doing without it drops tons of small chunks...but 3 deep miners vs 1 comb centrifuge still wont be able to keep up; most of my mining is exclusively via deep miners (i usually have 8-10 miners with 3 centris and it struggles to keep up with that)

If I am shutting down the drills then there would be no need for the silo as they would just be mining on demand. I could use a stacker to monitor when the chutes were backed up and save a lot of space.

Mick I said it once before and I will say it again. You are a master of this game through and through. So far I have learn a lot from you and I still have tons more to learn. Especially since lastnight I setup a sterling engine on Mars and was careful in building it as safely as possible. It ran great for a while until. Until the furnace suppling the hot gases built up to fast and burst the pipes causing the engine to blow up. I figure I put a little to much fuel in the furnace which created the problem. Oops, I have more to learn, lol. Now I am thinking maybe the phrase changer might be a better route for using the Stirling Engine.

If you put a volume pump on the furnace hot gas outlet, a Gas Pressure Analyser on the pipe at the Stirling Engine ... and probably a volume pump to purge the Stirling Engine's pipes once the gas gets too cold, you could control how much hot gas the Stirling Engine gets with an IC10, then purge the gas elsewhere once the Engine has pulled most of the usable heat out of it. E.g.: I've found that ~10 - 15 MPa of (4000 Deg K) hot gas pressure is OK with one Stirling Engine (with ~70 mol Volatiles in the little "working gas" canister you put in the machine) and it will still produce ~1kW power when its feed hot gas is down to about 300 Deg K

LOL. As the saying goes, Searing all of the flesh off you body is the mother of invention. Phase change can't generate enough heat for the stirling.

You're OCD is slipping. So many "temporary" things in this series. Making more work for yourself lol. Glass going into the composter inlet was a crack!

  • @InventedStick
    @InventedStick2 ай бұрын

You pumped the room gas into the volatile tank and once the composter started it self ignited.

Wrong. The engine was outside in the open. What I think really happen is the furnace had to much fuel in it at the start. Which caused the pressure to climb to rapidly and overwhelm the insulated pipes and hot small insulated tank combined with the total length of pipes being being to short going to and from the Stirling Engine. Plus, I added a one way valve which may have also added to the problem.

Yes, but why is the composter so hot?

@@cowsareevil7514 Think it's a part of the new game mechanics. I have a game going on moon, where I use composters to produce H2. Gets really hot. Luckily it also produce N2, that can be cooled with vacuum and I use that to cool down the output from the composters.

I think you should use a memory to store the status of the centrifuge. "Startup", "running", "emptying". Along those lines, then your program can adapt depending on the current situation. I think perhaps you could use more then one centrifuge, because why not?

1:04:10 you introduced volatiles into an oxygen environment. that reaction you do for your furnace. You forgot to pull a vacuum, before starting the composter.

  • @mwwoggy

Another great episode! I'm sure you already know why the volatiles ignited, so won't go into that, but perhaps consider putting over-pressure safety on that tank.

I know there was ignition. I can't figure out why the composter is making so much heat. Something must chave changed since I last used one.

The composter's output gas is hotter than 50°C and you forgot to clean the oxygen out of the room ;-) Imagine what would happen, if you haven't activated the vent in the beginning.

I'm not 100% sure whether the centrifuge will stop without noise if it is full. It worries me that the reagent count could be non-integer due to recycled stuff. You might need to replace the beq r0 3000 with bgt r0 2999
