CORRECTION: at 4:12, the value for Rc = -8.57 kN, and later, the value for Ra = -11.43 kN.

Why is it Rc = 11.43 at 4:12, shouldnt it be 8.57?

Hey can u explain why Reaction force Rc direction was taken along positive x. It should be negative x right?

You can assume it to be whatever you want it to be. Since we got a negative value for Rc, it means that the reaction at C was indeed going left, not right. My recommendation is to always assume them to be positive, and if they're not, then they are going in the negative direction.

    If RA = 11.43, shouldn't RC = -31.43?

The value for Ra and Rc are wrong.. for Ra it’s 11.43 and for Rc it’s -8.57

Imagine pulling out a screw that’s stuck in a piece of wood with a pair of pliers, you grip the screw at half of its length and start pulling. You are now pulling on the lower end of the screw and the wood is pulling back with the same force, the end of the screw that points upwards is kinda along for the ride not really doing anything

its the radius of the AB part so 20mm=0,02m we divide that with 2 in order to get the radius.
