Static vs Gavenkog | Too Many Bones Unbreakable Gameplay | Solo Build Test | EPIC Conclusion

We craft a solo build to see if Static can get through the massive defense wall that Gavenkog can put up. In this epic gameplay we both come to within a sliver of KO. #toomanybones #boardgames #boardgaming #tabletopgaming #chiptheorygames

    I've daydreamed about doing something like this with TMB, tremendous props to you for making it a reality. The closest thing I have to a suggestion is to make the sound effects a little less loud/sharp, they're sometimes jarringly louder than your voice. On the whole, this is amazing editing, and I'm practically envious at what you've done. Good stuff, sir!

    Sorry man, commenting as I watch so I don’t forget. When you “take a turn” for the baddie with his skill die ability it doesn’t replace its normal activation. You just get to use it immediately to do what you want. In the case of static’s skill you can’t move the target so you would just get to roll its attack dice against another baddie. Definitely makes that skill die slightly less effective and definitely more situational. Keep up the great gameplays good sir!

    Oh that is interesting. I am surprised there is not more language clarifying that all units can become opposing units. But I do see it says use instantly so it must be inferring based on context. Oooh, great question. I think most Chip Theory games are good candidates. Hoplo is straightforward and might be easier to film than something like Cloudspire or Burncycle. However, I'd argue those games need it more due to the heavy ruleset that hides the gameplay from a new player (who I imagine are a chunk of your viewers, assessing whether something is for them). Beyond CTG, I personally love any and all versions of Arkham Horror (primarily the LCG if you were to twist my arm), Marvel Champions... Basically any game that has an emergent narrative. Final Girl is great as well. Your style of editing resonates with me because you seem to cut all the 'hmm and hawing' of a traditional let's play. It also fills the gap for me to feel like I'm playing it without needing to set it up; a godsend as I have a little one who takes a bit of my attention these days.

    @@Neon_Gorilla I can't wait for those days, haha. It's a great ride, but not much time for solo-gaming at the moment. To be fair, lots of channels cover Arkham/Champions so it probably isn't all that necessary. Another game that comes to mind could be Sleeping Gods (I feel spoiler territory has expired), but ultimately go for the games you enjoy. Your enthusiasm and editing is what makes this enjoyable. Even your approach with creating a build for a TMB character before kicking off is super interesting. I'd love if you posted those too as I always need a bit of refresher before jumping into TMB. Playing a preplanned "class" would lower my barrier for re-entry. Can't wait to see what you come up with next. Keep on growing :)

    I think his defense should only have been 3 - he mimics your gearlocs stat. The highest _corresponding_ stat of all gearlocs should mean just take the highest defense stat of any gearloc in play and use it as his stat. Your health is just the highest stat in general, but it's not the corresponding stat. (also you forgot about the darkness modifier for day 5 from the encounter result on day 4 but it wouldn't have changed much)

    Played my first game with Static yesterday (2p w/Gale). He is my new favorite gearloc. Remember that you can remove dice from your active slot at any time so you’re able to reroll those active defense dice to get the 2x inner peace for the turn. It’s a big deal for Static to keep that inner peace moving from what I saw.

  • @ShivanAngel15

    @ShivanAngel15

    Жыл бұрын

    Oh and just noticed that you didn’t have the transcendence die to start the adventure. That’s part of what makes his inner peace amazing so don’t forget to start with that counter on your mat

  • @Neon_Gorilla

    @Neon_Gorilla

    Жыл бұрын

    Thanks for watching! Yeah I think removing is an option to re-roll but for me balancing that against the risk of rolling bones and losing survivability that I know I have is a tough choice especially in solo. Also depends on if I am prioritizing perseverance generation or the extra dex with inner peace. With that said that push and pull with those breathing tutor dice put him in S tier for me. I love the giant swings he can make.

  • @Neon_Gorilla

    @Neon_Gorilla

    Жыл бұрын

    Re: transcendence I totally forgot to get it on the mat in the beginning but added it about half way through. I honestly had no intention of using it anyway. I don’t like the 3 for one trade between inner peace and transcendence. Having to essentially use two rounds of no attack dice to spend on un exhausting one die feels like a bad trade off to use consistently. I will say that may be a solo problem. I think if I played two handed I might have more flexibility to use if I wasn’t in a clock to produce DPS. Did you find it worked for you?

    Yes I agree with Brad .. you can pull Active defence dice to roll them .. generally your doing this to improve the chance roll bones for either a specific backup plan or trying to get Innate+1. I noticed you quickly placed a Skill dice where you rolled a bone.. think you know but you only have to play a red bone mandatory into your backup plan and you can usually just place a rolled bones skill back into your mat. General rule for Gearlocks unless it states otherwise is you don't have to apply the result of any die (Skills, Attack, Def) and skills rolled but effect not played go back in the mat.. Manual Base Page 19. Reinforced Buckler should have been a Trove Loot with a tough lock... yeah it's heavy but still seriously OP for most Gears :)
