Sometimes I think that it is too harsh that students have to prepare both SOP and PS

Hi Sachin. Thamks for the valuable information! I am also applying to Purdue and U Michigan fot Fall 2024. I have a doubt though. Has Purdue recently changed the 500 word limit fot LOR? I went through each and eveey webpage of MS in Mechanical Engineering application and no where could I find it mentioned the 500 word limit. Also, even Purdue has started asking for a separate Personal Statement. But the world limit i could not find it anywhere. Can you check it once and confirm if i am correct? I'll be very thankful!

I don't remember, but I think there was no limit for the SOP, but a 500 word limit for the personal statement? Some other departments at Michigan might have suggested limits.

Do we need to mention backlogS IN bachelor degree in our SOP?

Hi Sachin! Can you please explain about the pros and cons of non thesis ms course (1-1.5yrs) and thesis ms course. Many universities including University of michigan and purdue offer non thesis track but im not sure if its a good choice

The non-thesis track is a solid option. That's the one I chose. Thesis track is good if you want to get into research. Job-wise, both are about the same.

Hey it's topuniversities.com. You should filter by mech eng rankings to get the same numbers as I did on the screen.

Can you tell which website shows this ranking of unis according to subject?

Now i want to go Abroad...many are going USA but they are all into CS or IT stream...i want to work in ME domain itself which might be tough/risky move for US. That's why my dad is regretting for not purchasing a CS/IT seat for me

@@diary_of_shutterbug You would have already made a decision by now, but still putting it out there. Majority of the US universities don't accept a 3 year BSc degree for their MS programs. They require 16 years of education to be eligible for a graduate degree (BTech or BSc+MSc).

Yes, if you have a strong GRE score and a great profile (research, projects, internships, etc.), then you should stand a chance.

Hey Aayush, could you let me know how are you converting your GPA to US system grade, as I have 7.4 GPA(Electronics and Communication Engineering) in Indian system, and wondering what would be the equivalent grade point in US system of grading? Whether i have to enter the scores of each and every subjects which I have read during my undergrad, those subjects will come around 60-62 subjects. Hey, you probably shouldn't calculate it at all. Universities usually just want you to enter the raw amount, like 7.5/10 or 86/100.

Is 7.25 /10 a low GPA. Should I mention my awards in my resume to boast my profile. Like I got a silver medal for scoring the second highest marks while graduating with a masters degree?
