Everytime i feel discouraged i find myself back at this video. You are the embodiment of what a runner should be, and I have to thank you for helping so many of us with this great sport. Great to see how far you've come and hope to see you continue running even after college.

I got introduced into xc as a Junior and the best I ran was a 20min flat 5k. I really wanted to improve and make it to regionals for my Senior year so I worked my ass off and ran a 17:38 at a quite difficult course. Unfortunately a couple days before the Districts race I fractured my knee and I fractured it even more by running the Districts race and tore a cartilage. My dream of running regionals was crushed and I stopped running for about 5 months due to my knee and feeling down. Now I am back on my feet putting in some light work. Great inspiration! Keep on grinding 🏃

I hope you read this, but I just wanted to say this is my favorite video of yours. I’ve been on your channel for the longest time watching your videos, and it took me awhile to understand that you’ve moved on for the benefit of your life. I am a cross country runner in high school and you are the reason why I am still running. My motivation and passion from the sport comes from you. I understand that you are a different person now, but I will keep watching your videos and supporting you through the way. You’ve come along way since this race, thank you. Hopefully down the road we can have a conversation through dm.

as a seventh grader, my cross country team would train every day. I started out not knowing what to do. I was 10 pounds overweight and my mile was 7:30 with no training. but then after xc and track, my mile time became 5:19

TILLY no I'm serious cuz my uncle was a division one xc for cal poly and I wanted to be like him. My first practice was a 4K run. I'm like coach r u serious? I eventually bumped up to 4 miles every day.And after xc season I was at 5:35. Track season came and then 5 miles a day lowered my time to 5:20. And then after about 200 some odd days. I finally had some potential to be a professional runner

I went from a 5:46 mile to a 5:25 because of my mind set. You will start and end fast, so run the 2 and 3 laps fast and dont slow down. Also, when your hurting, its your mind lying. As soon as you stop or slow down, your head will drop in disappointment. All pain is mental. I got 25th at state in Illinois as an 8th grader for 2 miles. 11:13.7. I ran 5:25 as a 7th grader though. I'm excited for track this year to see what I can do!
