This was a heartstopping moment. The way the music swells and the ringing voice over it "Mr Speaker the President of The United States." So sad that tRump did his level best to denigrate the highest office in the land.

I love that drumbeat right after "Mr. Speaker" where you just see Bartlet standing there resolutely.

Love Charlies amen adlib, the way Bartlett walks up with all his guys (bar Josh) behind him. Great show, one of the very best.

The *GREATEST* show in the _HISTORY_ of television.

Best cold open in series history. Period! The open to the second half of this two parter was pretty good as well.

I always loved the music leading up to the opening credits. On a lot of the big suspenseful episodes, the music just builds and builds

These where some of the most powerful words of the entire series. "Mr. Speaker...The President of the United States!"

This really was a great show!!

I was watching the Social Network and as always blown away by Sorkin's writing and I had forgotten I had this in my itunes. I swear I teared up when Bartlett asked Mr Finney to see the Speaker. Something so momentous as a state of the union Bartlett distills it down to "I'd like to see the speaker....". I have been a fan of this show since it came out in Australia in 1999. I was watching the night (Sydney time) of 9/11. Some of the greatest television ever!!!! (The show, not 9/11)

This show illustrates what a true POTUS is, then you turn on the news and shake your head in embarrassment.

Once again it's time for the State of the Union

You need more than growing a pair to be this cool... You need class!! Something, sadly, doesn't come in every administration.

Reality is over-rated. Fiction rules.

This isn't right. I've been in the Capitol where the Presidents stand before being announced and entering. Behind him should be the Hall of Statutes (National Sanctuary Hall/Old House Chamber)

All these people in the comments comparing this to Trump don't seem to realize Biden is just as bad at public speaking as Trump is.

A Democrat who balanced a budget??? Only in Hollywood.

A simple goggle search and you would have seen Bill Clinton balanced the budget. I'm still waiting for every republican since 1980 to cut the deficit
