This is one President that I am proud to admit that I voted for him. I wish that there was someone just like him now.

Reagan DID use TelePrompTers. He had two spread out widely so it would look like he was looking around at the audience, rather than reading. And he practiced constantly before speeches to make it look very fluid. He really only needed them as notes to keep him on track though, unlike Obama. He did have a good portion memorized, and he made sure it didn't look extremely obvious that he was reading it. So it definitely way more well done than Obama.

Absolutely right. Reagan winged everything he did and wrote it on the spot..... definitely not. 1988 SOTU he has all of his notes on his podium....

Wonderful points by Reagan, about the TRUE nature of the deficit, as well as his warnings of the national debt--which, tragically, have come true. Note: McCain also proposed a spending freeze--and of course, it was denounced as "too extreme". *sigh* I really love Reagan's proposal about school prayer. He was right on the money.

He borrowed the money to fight the Soviet Union and also to stop the Carter inflation (which cost us higher interest)

"The problems we inherited...", continue unemployment benefits, the key to job creation is interest rate cuts (not tax cuts), continuing benefits to the truly needy and that Americans are always concerned for their welfare, this man is more liberal than one would be led to believe by those who have built altars to Reagan using only their memory of him. This video goes against what most say he stood for. Nice that it exists. Humility is the virtue through which we grow as people, and a country.
