The fact is that the current Swedish and Danish royal family have family connection through King Frederik X’s grandmother, Ingrid Of Sweden who was HM King Carl XVI’s aunt . technically, the current Kings were first cousin once removed

Я дивилась на них . Сплячі вони були . Екзамени вона здала і Диплом їй вручили. Я Вишивала . Тітки були не допущені до мого подвірья. Сиділи У домах своїх недалеко і готували їсти. Я подивилась на них , було жарко як Сьогодні. Були недовго Вони три пьять годин . Я вчила Українська Мова Музика Родичі Вони нормальні у мене. Чарльз не здавав екзамени . Швидше усих проплив у бассейні. Я вчила на СУДДЯ. Юридичний факультет Київський Университет. Плавання у Бассейні обовьязково ! Принц Чарльз з мого Парижського Секундомера отримав точний результат. Футбол грали . Волейболл. Князі були . І Герцоги. Імператори. Королі потім зібрались.

No, they speak their own languages. The Swedish King speaks Swedish, and the Danish King speaks Danish.

They are related. King Carl Gustav and Queen Magrethe are first cousins and King Harald V and Queen Margrethe are second cousins. 😊
I heard: Nils Holgersson from Selm Lagerlöf H.M. The King of Sweden, Carl Gustav, carefully watches his nephew, the guest of honor H.M. King Frederick of Denmark. Beautiful opulent table setting in contrast to the minimalist Nordic design.Nils Holgersson would be overwhelmed.

Frederick is not Carl Gustaf's nephew. They are second cousins, I believe. (Carl Gustaf and Queen Margrethe are first cousins.)

In that case the kings are first cousins once removed. Presumably he refers to him as "uncle" because of the age difference.

King Frederik X is King Carl XVI Gustaf's first cousin once removed, rather than his nephew. I don't understand why King Frederik refers to King Carl Gustaf as "Uncle Carl Gustaf".

@@Putte2424Yes! I didn't say that Queen Margrethe and King Carl XVI Gustav weren't cousins. That's precisely what makes the two kings mutually first-cousins once-removed; hence the surprise that the Frog King addresses the Lion of the North King as "uncle".

Jeg frykta litt som du, at mottakelsen i Norge kom til å blekne i forhold, men jeg ble kraftig imponert. Jeg trur faktisk vi greide å matche Sverige. Vi mangler en del ting som svenskene har, roere, hester, hestevogner, gamle millitæruniformer, hoffmarskalker med fjær, osv. I Norge har vi kongeskipet, og historiske Akershus festning. Det var et stort oppbud av soldater, Oslos politihester stod oppstilt, og Buicken fra 1939 veier også litt opp.

@@ruralorreal9568 Jeg er enig i at mottagelsen og gallamiddagen ble ganske stilig i Norge også selv om vi mangler en del når det gjelder vogner og den slags. Men kongeskipet "Norge" gjør jo absolutt sitt. Hva som ikke imponerte meg noe særlig var å se enkelte av de som var invitert til slottet til gallamiddagen. Både i Danmark og i Sverige så betyr galla kjole og hvitt. Å komme i dress og slips, eller også smoking, ser ganske "shabby" ut. Man burde nesten få et kjole og hvitt antrekk når man blir valgt til Stortingspresident synes jeg siden de som kler den rollen vil med stor sannsynlighet møte opp på ganske mange gallamiddager. Og jeg så mye mer av ordensbånd og medaljer i Sverige. Og det der med at man ikke lenger går med ordenskjede når det er galla synes jeg heller ikke noe særlig om. Spesielt om man gir gjesten et sånt kjede som de da aldri kommer til å bruke... Men alt i alt, det ble ikke så ille som man kanskje kunne ha fryktet.

@@ruralorreal9568 Jeg syntes den norske modtagelse var flottere og "varmere" hvis man kan sige det, der var så mange mennesker fremmødt med flag, flot med kortegen gennem gaderne hvor alle soldaterne stod osv.

Mary is the best person in the room. The Swedish queen's eyes are scary. The eyes truly are the window to the soul. What does all that royal pomp and splendor mean anyway? They will all die and leave it behind someday.
