Actually...hate to sound like a nerd here, but an average Star Destroyer (At least the Imperial-1) had a crew of around 27k enlisted troopers and 9k officers. Destroyers were big, but not THAT big.

The engine switches to another model which has been broken into parts and additional internal detail added specifically for the crash sequence.

It's such a shame this game is so shallow... It just looks and sounds so good...

Yeah the original two were much better and had the clone wars now I know the movies, episodes 1-3 were pretty shitty but the actual lore and the clone wars themselves were fucking badass not saying the galactic civil war wasn't but the scale of the clone was just so fucking epic and the amount of Jedi fighting in them was awesome unlike the civil war after the fall of the republic I think Disney and dice should better represent that time period in the Star Wars universe then just completely ignore them especially since Disney did an amazing job on the rogue one and a fairly decent job on episode 7

+Jvex not necessarily, I'm saying the clone wars era should be rebooted, and that the current game is shallow and I hope Disney can bring the clone wars the much needed reinvigoration and a fresh start and new look at them to help better represent them instead of shuffling them away in fear of losing money because of the failures of the current clone wars episodes. I believe lore wise the clone wars have far far more potential and interest than the rebellions vs the empire,

The super star destroyer crashing at 1:00 is the Ravager, the Imperial class crashing at 5:30 is the Inflictor. Both ships are seen in The Force Awakens, with Inflictor being the most prominent.

If I remember correctly, the Ravager crashed on Jakku's surface because a Starhawk battlecruiser was able to grab it with its tractor beam and pull it down to the surface. Shows how powerful they really are.

Something I want for the next game is that when star destroyers crash, a huge dust/sand storm is created. This would make for a great gamemode, trying to find enemies through the dust while trying to stay alive. We already know EA Dice can do this. In battlefield 1 there are sandstorms.

I'm suprised the exploding mid air star destroyers don't wipe out the map since something of that size would need a lot of power, more than what's stored in an atomic bomb, and there should be nothing left of the ship or the map, and don't even get me stared on the ssd, the power that thing would need would be enough to crack the planets surface

its not really a ton of people that play it anymore, i would say maybe 2000. people stopped playing it very fast because it didnt meet their expectations. just like no mans sky. i didnt expect it would be an amazing game because the creators werent the same as the ones from the first 2 games.

i feel "was so lacking in content" understates just how lacking it was, It was nothing more than a demo, the lost planet demo had more content.

It’s so cool seeing the Ravager crash. I remember reading about it in the Aftermath books and how genius the strategy to kill it was only to see it’s remains in The Force Awakens.

I am extremely impressed with how the battles look in this game.

altought they're bit of infamous nowadays due to EA, the main point of battlefield/battlefront games was to give A fps call of duty style game with freedom of playing as much as possible, basically its a mini sandbox fps game, that's why these game always give the illusion of realistic wars because ur not forced to do the objective like how the multiplayers of COD and other fps game works.

The one on Jakku was the Inflictor, an Imperial class Star Destroyer, it was commanded by Captain Ciena Ree, it was slammed into the ground on purpose to keep it our of Rebel hands. But, before it crashed, she escaped in a pod and was later arrested by the Alliance.

2:26 Oddly satisfying moment when the lights/engines of a cruiser flicker

Watching huge spaceships crash to the ground is awesome... details with the smoke are really realistic and I love the background battle noises.

the Imperial capital ships appeared to be a lot more dramatic in their destruction. The rebel ships on the other hand seem to just fall out of the sky without actually exploding. Most of the Imperial ships on the other hand will actually explode.

Seeing the Executor/Ravager crash just makes me feel terrified watching at something so big fall onto the ground and you can feel it from literally miles. Truly terrifying.

this is pretty soothing to watch

Love this as it gives a whole new depth to the game (especially the Jakku map!) I also love the fact that you could record all of these without getting killed! Props there.

I feel bad for the guys on those crashing ships R.I.P. Storm troopers,crew,rebels

These animations just look awesome.

+Soul Glo when you compare battlefront 2, and the cancelled battlefront 3 to what we got from Disney. you would know why people hate this battlefront

By looking at how close the ship was at 5:46, you'd logically see a much greater scatter of sand from your perspective, and the crash would've even caused a minor earthquake around it.

I never noticed how awesome the background is. I didn't know you could see them crash like that. Very cool.

If only we were the ones doing the crashing...

To this day, I still wonder what keeps them floating in the air. I understood the ships had engines in the back pushing everything forward, but how in gods name does it stay in the air? :o

All Star Wars ship( possible any ship ) have anti-gravitational force field generators( like engines covered away but aimed towards the ground) kinda

THis is what I love most about this game the dynamic scenery, visuals and the sounds :D

I always got mesmerized by the the battles taking place in the atmosphere, they made the game feel exponentially larger than it really was. I think that for the Executor crash, it should've blown a sandstorm onto the map.

6:38 all I could think "That's the last time we'll be seeing those guys. I sure hope so.:

No EA decided to cut out the campaign and a shit ton of other features because they don't give a crap about making good games, and just want to use the hype of the IPs to rake in as much money as they can. Then later on add the other stuff as "DLC".

Slim Sonny No, EA decided to cut out almost everything because like I said, they don't give a fuck about quality. They give fucks about money. Sure they may have rushed it, but even if they did have plenty of time and could get it out whenever the fuck they want, they most likely still would have cut the campaign anyways.

No they ran out of time before star wars 7. there is an article to prove it too. you can thank Disney for destroying this game DICE and EA are not at fault here. you how ever are butt hurt, bandwagon riding 12 year old who hates EA and DICE for no reason at all. NO ONE IS PERFECT.

In the PSP game Battlefront Elite Squadron, one could go from the surface to space and destroy a Star Destroyer by going inside, and the interior was much more expansive than in BFII. Then, you have a limited amount of time to run back to the hanger and escape before it blows up. The graphics can't touch EA, but the gameplay was pretty cool and nothing has compared for a Star Wars game since

3:34 I know the video is about the capital ships getting sent into the ground, but you just cant miss the X-Wing and Tie Fighter flying in circles trying to get a good shot on one another.

I hope in the sequel we better have that ground to space gameplay where we can interact with them.

7th_dimension the game was made in 6 months so just calm yourself down

It's very possible that falling down on the surface of the ship like SSD (over 10 km long huge chunk of metal) would cause a catastrophic quakes far beyond 10.0 in Richter scale... not to mention that meltdown of her reactors would probably render entire planet inhabitable for a quite LONG time.

I guess this depends on the velocity it falls down with. Would it fall from outside the planets atmosphere the impact alone would most likely sterilize a planet

The SSD was around 19km in length but in order to do any real damage it would have to be travelling nose down at over 10000km/h Not like the 300km/h it was doing in this video

reactors aren't nuclear powered or any other energy projection that would really sterilize anything. They run more on ions and other odd atom structures(i havent looked at it in a while so im having trouble remembering exactly how star destroyers run, i know it's not nuclear though but still molecular) meshing together to create energy or some other star wars crap. when they meltdown they just kinda blow up and are done. kinda like a tactical nuke i suppose. there is little to no residual damage though. Only groups in Star Wars who used Nuclear devices were the Madelorians and they stopped quickly, and the rebels once. compared to ion weaponry that could decimate life and leave planets still habitable nukes were just unnecessary and so rejected by most advanced civilizations

Thank you for this video. These are those little details, that make Battlefront 1 2015 so much better in terms of atmosphere than Battlefront II 2017.

Actually, that can easily be the bottom of a Star Destroyer.

Nice. Sure, there was probably people who had lives outside the Empire or whatever faction they are, but seeing a big ship just falling from the sky is perfect.

That is pretty damn good actually, like the slow pace

Pretty cool - loved seeing that last Star Destroyer crash and burn! Would have been awesome to see them do that with big budget movie effects in ROTJ, but this will due. Hahaa
