Not sure if you remember it or not but when I was a kid "which wasnt long ago" McDonald's used to give out saplings in happy meals to kids. My old school buddy planted his in the front yard some 20 years ago and it's still living and doing well to this day. A poplar tree about 60 feet tall and around 26" at breast level

No bud I'm not using any tubes or shelters for the trees. Iv been told by several people that the deer will eat the tops off of the oaks but as if now it's not been a problem
