I just found your channel and I’m impressed with your hoop barn. I particularly like how you elevated the sides to give you a section of straight wall and the jig you came up with to help position the hoops on top of the wall plate. How is the tarp roof performing? Do you think it be possible to use the type metal (as you used on the sides) to cover the roof in place of the tarp? Thanks for posting your building and happy holidays.

Thanks for watching! The tarp is good, it has a 15 year pro rated warranty on it so it’s built to last for a good amount. As far as using the metal in place of it, I don’t think it would would out. The tarp helps to hold everything together, and with the curvature im not sure how well it would bend around it, and you would also have to run more pieces down it to attach the metal to. Hope this helps!

Did you have to cut the perlin brackets off each end?

Been awhile and can’t remember for sure, but I want to say all of those are the same, so I would have had to cut them off on the end hoops.

Hey man, your hoop barn looks great! Quick question please? In my country, Mongolia, we don't have these structures and I have no one to ask for advice. I would like to make similar barn as yours for my equipment but I am not certain which metal and thickness etc to use? Can you gave me some advice, please? Thanks!

Thanks man! I will do a video here in the next couple of days and go over all the specs of my barn. That’ll probably be better than me trying to type it all out.

6x6x10 post put 4ft in the ground. You can go longer if you wanted it to sit up higher but that’s pretty standard for what I’ve seen people do.

Mine came from Kentucky Hoop barns. There’s several companies that have them across the U.S. it came with all of the metal hoops and hardware and the canvas. They’re available in pretty much any size that you want.
