Just today I found a black walnut seed sproughting in my dead Japanese Holly pot. I am very interested in your bonsai journey as I am just starting mine. Thank you for posting this!

Too much direct sunlight on just the right day has bleached my leaves before. The strait lineages me thing it's sun related. Maybe a photochemical burn or something reflective like a mirror pointing at it at just the right time.

@@theuniversalacorn7818 I've started a Juglins nigra and Acer saccharinum from seed this year! I'm not religous but it does something magical.
Might be Variegated wouldn’t that be neat on a bonsai tree
