Raft LPTs: 1. fishing pole is great source of food; 2. when crafting, you can click the sub ingredient icon to craft more without having to go to it; 3. you can repair floors quickly with the hammer by clicking in the mouse wheel (without having to select repair)

Raft is such an underrated game. Its such a gem.

Step 1 expand a few planks. Step 2 build a purifier and grill. Step 3 get a cup and fishing pole. Now you can survive. Getting a sail and permanent anchor make island stops so much easier. Later in the game the engines are great too.. but early game it's all about expanding and getting collection nets going

Hey Z, did you know that when you craft a spear for example, and you need more rope, you can click on the resource directly and not craft it in the craft menu.

I was lucky my computer was bad Since it forced me to play on peaceful But I starved to death and died of dehydration like five times before I got a good source of both going lol!

This got recommended to me by the algorithm and I love it. Raft has always been a relaxing game for me despite Bruce and his clones being annoying at times. I suggest investing in raft foundation armor and keeping your bottom level less than 100 raft foundations so you won't need extra engines late game.

Z when crafting an item like the spear you can click on the image for rope in the spear menu to craft it, you don't have to go find it in the menu and craft it there. thanks for all the great content.

While holding the hammer, you can press the middle mouse button/scroll wheel to repait foundations/your raft

FYI If you want to craft something that needs a material like rope, you can click on the rope listed in the ingredient list for the item you want to make, and if you have the materials it will make the rope. So you don't need to go back to the materials menu every time you don't have enough rope (Or nails, screws, hinges etc...) Also - build up to a second level asap, as long as at least 1 of the foundations your support is attached to remains, it will be fine and all the roof/floor tiles it supports will be fine making your critical food/water setup safer until you can collect enough metal to armor your base.

- why didn't you build a chest and store your items in it before dying?

Early game....make the sail 2nd...after the spear....steering = barrels and derelict rafts

I had to restart a new world 6 times because I ended up in an endless death loop. Lost my raft, got my raft stuck on an island with no paddle and the shark ate my raft lol.

the problem is supplies are limited on an island. Without wood surviving is tough. In real life you would generally set up on an island and use a raft to gather supplies if supplies existed. Ideally start a tree farm and food farm.. there are some large islands in the game that doesn't make sense to leave with wildlife and everything
