Loved your video! Learned a lot! I do have a question about the LLC and why to get that instead of a DBA? I plan on just having a home business as a partnership with my spouse. So, would I still get a LLC over a DBA?

Good question! And the best answer is to check your local requirements. Here in Arizona, getting a DBA is not required to start a business although it is a common practice. Getting an LLC is simply one type of business entity to choose from. If you go into business for yourself, most people set it up as a sole proprietorship. If you're going into business with friend, family member or business partner then maybe a partnership is the business entity you need. Setting your business up as an LLC varies by state as to what's required however an LLC helps to distinguish you a part from your business mostly in legal situations. For example, if someone sues you as a sole proprietorship or partnership, all of your personal assets are involved, house, car, etc. If you were sued as an LLC, only items associated with the business are involved. My business is set up as an LLC, Rogue Art Productions, LLC. and I''m doing business as (DBA) Artfully Rogue. If I had another business, I could add another DBA within the LLC. Did that answer your question?

I just recently had a video that hit with good SEO, key terms and a thumbnail. It all matters. Hopefully, I did not sound terribly arrogant. Just trying to help- You have the skills in the shop but some of these internet skills are hard to learn.

@@ArtfullyRogue I want to use my Facebook page, facebook.com/RissmillerProductions as my main, Central, right now sole business website. What advantages/disadvantages do you think of? My belief about business tax is to find a tax attorney I retain year round then go by their direction with business tax and liability. If those two steps aren't enough business structure I could find a business lawyer or purchase liability insurance for myself. It always seemed to me, and I've heard, you must earn so much a year gross in order to be required to get an Eid#

Thank you for this vid Learned a lot ! I’m wondering if when you create your merchant account do you just transfer $ to your personal account to pay yourself or is there a “legal” or formal way to pay yourself?

I set up automatic transfers from my biz account to my personal account to "pay myself". I use two separate debit cards as well biz card for biz purchase only and personal card to pay for dinner out or personal stuff. My quickbooks account keeps track of all of my biz purchases and then I go in and itemize each purchase where it needs to go, like 'materials & supplies, shopr rent etc.

That depends on what state and city you plan to file for your business. Most of the time, if you are operating a biz out of your home, use that address. If you move, then simply update your biz license when you have the new address
