This Moskvich was abandoned in 1994. There was school next to this building that was opened again in 1994 for 10 years.

Made me remember a Lada 2104 that was abandoned in the yard across the street and I could see it from the 2nd floor classrooms of my primary school. I think the owner of the car and yard either died already back then or he was still alive at that time and driving an Astra F wagon already if I'm not mixing stuff up. Too bad that car's gone and that guy too. He repaired TVs, radios and stuff like that his house was FILLED with them to the point you could barely walk in and there was this solid electronic stench covering the old house smell when you walked in, it's been over 15 years and I remember that smell till now, probably impacted the guy's health a lot too. Anyways, at that time there were many eastern bloc cars sitting abandoned like that, now they're pretty much all gone. Never remember seeing a Moskvich though.

А что там по хорошему может сломаться? Все примитивно и просто, минимум электрики, никаких эко-норм. Цилиндр сцепления автор заменил - они стандартно вытекают после долгого простоя. Странно, что про тормоза ничего не показано - их тоже перебирать нужно стандартно и прокачивать. 46 тыс. скорее всего родной пробег, уж очень бодро движок стартовал да и давление хорошее.

I have Lada Samara start 2 minutes too and 16960 km 1993 made

29years and still runs oh man this is a car,kinda like the little sedan car,never seen and dont exist in my country. I would recover even if it took some years,full restoration,thats a piece of automotive history. Have a nice Christmas all of you guys from team "Flexiny" and your family. Simple, tough engineering, which is all you need from a car. People here (UK) looked down on Soviet / Eastern bloc cars because they were utilitarian and not flashy, but the fact that this one started right up and drove speaks volumes. Being kept inside the barn saved this one rusting away like most 70s cars.

Not to mention I never see these so called BMWs they copied, and they certainly aren't as simple/reliable. These are everywhere in Russia still. The BMWs are long gone. How is it miserable I wonder...

Yeah. A lot of engine Bays from the 80s and onwards are cramped with all sorts of gadgets. The downsizing trend in engine technology from the past few years has actually helped in that regard though.

самое больше чудо это сцепа с несоосно работающим выжимным, который прилично доставлял проблем владельцам, мой отце с 1988 по 2000 4 раза сцепу менял при пробеге в 80 тыс, я за 20 тыс еще 2 раза поменял, потом на 100 тыс поставил кпп от сиерры 5 ступку, с новой фордовской сцепой и бу выжимным, который достался с коробкой в хз каком состоянии, проехал 40 тыс и вообще забыл думать о трансмиссии

Звук выхлопа и правда оригинал. На своем когжа поменял резонатор и глушитель на современные, звук стал не таким басистым и приятным.

That is a crazy car......the engine from 408, the body from 412 and the Dashboard from 2140. Moskvich was my whole childhood in the GDR .......great cars.

The Moskvich model was determined not by the body, but by the engine. The restyled body does not mean the 412 model, the 408 also looked like this since December 1969. The devices are not from 2140; they appeared in 1974, when model 2140 was not yet produced.

We had one. 1973 1300m. Sounded exactly like same. Very much memories of that car. Sold to my friends, to use as ice racing car.

@@maikelnait4495 No, they used it with original engine. It was not any official race. Back then cars were like that. Not much horsepower. But enough to get that elite to fly several meters.

Moskvich-408 is not a copy of any Western car. But the first Moskvich cars, 400 and 401 models (1946-1956), were largely copied from the Opel Kadett K38

Planned obsolescence didn't exist yet. Germans have Perfected planned obsolescence to the point where they engineer the entire car to make them money and then fail after warranty

Salutations de Belgique. J'en ai acheté une d'occasion après avoir détruit ma Toyota Celica 1972 dans un accident. Elle était bleue claire avec une peinture métallisée. Commande de vitesses au volant. Banquette à l'avant. Devant le radiateur d'eau, il y avait une jalousie pour arrêter l'air froid intense (génial, mais les hivers en Belgique ne sont pas très rudes). Problème, il fallait régulièrement resserrer la commande de marche arrière, accessible sous la voiture ! Elle consommait beaucoup d'essence aussi, mais c'était une très bonne voiture, d'une certaine classe par rapport à son prix en Europe de l'ouest. Merci pour la vidéo.
