Also get a ski mask from Sally’s or the dollar store to sleep in cus it’s satin and soft like a durag but you don’t have to tie anything against your locs which helps avoid those weak spots in the hair from the tension

I think that itch is using oils to early. My first 2 loc journeys I delt with that. but this loc journey I haven't delt with any itching like that, but when I do I wash it. You are doing the right thing with finding the light oils that work for you. I'm getting away from oils lately tho maybe applying some once or twice per retwist cycle.

Y’all gotta get that scalp oil bottle it’s a life saver. It saved me with my last set and it’s saved me with my current set (1.5 years high too first set, 8 month 3/4 head current set)

Today is my 30th day with my starters and throughout my first month I've come to accept that itchy scalp is inevitable. My first two weeks was annoying ASF!!! lol however the second two weeks has been more tolerable in regards to the itching. So for those just starting hang in there as I am and find something that works.

Perhaps the itching is from an allergy. Might be beneficial to get some allergy testing- your system could be releasing histamines which causes the itching. Itching is NOT a normal part of the loc process. Hope that helps.
