Bought one for my 2019 Titan and it worked just fine for a couple months. Then my truck wouldn’t start (push button start) but the accessory would turn on. Would have to disconnect the battery and reconnect then it would start. Then it wouldn’t shut off. Had to pull the fuel pump fuse. Took the remote start out and my truck worked perfectly.

Hey driver great video just had your self a new subscriber, I'm a builder- home renovation contractor and want to give you a idea on your garage door, if you're not planning on getting another house soon just have the garage door taken off then park the truck in the garage the way you comfortable with it parking, mark at least 2ft away from the back of the truck remove the truck from the garage then frame the garage doorway out more to the 2ft you marked and put a little roof lip above the new framing so water dont get in and add some siding close up the inside then bring out your garage door to the end and your good to go, might of to pull a small permit and I'm not saying you must do it yourself or saying you can't do it but incase you cant get a good builder guy/lady who he or she do great work it will look nice.

Great vid! Refreshing that you left in the segments where you have to find the key with the battery, try the different lock-unlock-lock modes cuz doesn't this always happen to most of us? Ordered this for my 2018 F-250 today from Amazon. Can't wait to have this working in my truck! I think of all the cold mornings when I'm fishing or hunting and have to venture out in freezing weather to warm up the truck while everybody else stays inside... Also I know about not fitting in your garage.. My garage was long enough (barely) but I had to remove 2 inches of overhead garage trim board before I could park it inside..

I held my breath when his was trying to remote start the truck! Lol.

I live up in the mountains and every morning I leave for work between midnight and 3 am. We have wolves, bears, and big cats out here and I gotta load my dog up each morning! Don't feel like losing my dog like that! I figure remotely starting the truck and having good lighting should help spook them "before" I go outside! Sofar I only see predator food/deer out there! When they are there = good, when they aren't there, it's possible that they've moved on because of a predator being close! I think remote start would be helpful! Plus I like heat and defrosted windows!

@@moonshot3822 it’s hard to install for my car (2022 Nissan Sentra). you are better off going to an audio shop and have them install one. I have yet to completely install it. I hate that I waited too late and now I can’t return it.

We've purchased a Compustar 4900S 2-Way CSX Remote Start System for a 2009 Honda CRV and there is No Connections Diagram Included between the CM-900 Module and the Starter Interrupt Relay. Just wondering if you can help with the actual wires connections diagram or instructions. This is a 5 Pin Relay (Tianbo - TRV4-L-12V-Z-F) with 2 Yellow Wires, 1 Yellow/Black Wires, One Blue & One Green. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Does the remote start work for older cars? Such as a 2001 and more recent?

Does this basically work with any ford 2011-2015 with that OBD port ?

I heard some of the more recent fords have remote start but have it turned off at the factory. You need a remote key and an obd II to activate it. Not sure since mine's too old to apply.

Im not sure if thats only on newer models only but my truck recognized that it had been remote started so before you put the key in it says insert keys to drive or something like that in the gauge cluster.

I assume you’d most likely need to have a key fob because that’s how this device operates. This kit Doesn’t come with a fob because you use the factory one that goes to your vehicle. And I guess if you don’t have power locks you probably don’t have a fob. So I don’t think this one would work for you. Might try researching google on remote starts for vehicle without power locks.

It's been 2 years now since you made this video. How is the starter holding up? And can you still use the obd?

I sold the truck about two months ago and there was no problems with it ever. Worked every time.

Not at all. Just plug in and it’s ready to use. The truck even recognizes it’s remote start. A message pops up on the gauge cluster that says “insert key to operate vehicle” or something like that lol

I would search Amazon and google to find the best one for your vehicle. I don’t believe this one would work as it’s for the Ford F-150

You mean like pass an emissions test? sorry I'm from Kansas and we only do those if the car thats being inspected had an out of state title before you bought it. If thats what you are asking, this starter wouldn't have any affect on that test. So no worries!

If you try to step on brakes without key in the vehicle will shut off immediately.

I don't believe the starter in this video will. But amazon does sell another starter thats not as simple as this one to install. My Dad actually just bought one for his Toyota Camry. Its the MPC Brand. heres the link: amzn.to/3hqSOtX

I don't know if this is a dumb question if I were to install this on my 2006 Honda, once it starts, do I just put the key in the ignition and put it to on? do I have to worry about the engine not shutting off? If the engine is on will it drive without the key? My only other thing is the car is old and the key fob's range is practically nothing. any advice on how to improve it? Can I start my car from my phone instead?

I don’t believe this one would but if you click on the Amazon link and search for “07 Ford Escape remote start” you should be able to find something compatible!

Was there a remote start system already installed in your truck? So all you do is program the key fob?

No there was no system installed already. This is just plug in and program it then use your stock key fob to start the truck.
