@@gemstonestitches7632 I do not have nearly as much stitching as you do! But I hope to change that in 2023 with lots of finishes. I have never stitched Hello by Liz Matthews and received three of her charts for Christmas so maybe one of those will be a new start soon. Have you stitched any of her designs??

Planning on stitching my first stocking this year. I'm sure that will be easy. It's the 2nd part I'm fretting as I don't really know h ow to sew lol! Thanks for sharing😎

Yes it says to start them all in the center. However, Count up and count over then start in the upper right corner, so much faster, saves hours and hours. I can get through the name in the first day. Set up 4 x 4 plus signs every 20 x 20 to keep me in check for reference. Make a grid that works for you. Or start in the center if you like. Just a suggestion.

Wow, I never thought of starting in the corner. I'm too nervous since there isn't a lot of extra fabric. Sounds like you stitched a lot of stockings!

Hi there. Enjoying your video. Would you have a video or a link to another video that shows how to finish the stocking once the cross stitching is completed? I'm not a great sewer so stressing out a bit about that part of the process.

i am half way through this kit, it's all half stitch! Simple, simple! The chart is smaller being all on one page. i am getting older

You are welcome. Knowing it helped at least one person makes it worth it! Since we can't do the loop start for blends, I tuck the thread under other stitches in the back to secure the threads. If there aren't stitches to put the thread under, I use my fingers to hold onto the tail in the back and stitch over the tail to secure the thread. Hope that helps. Happy stitching!

Watched this video again and have another question (really enjoy your videos). New to cross stitching and doing my first project which is a stamped stocking. Nervous about doing a counting cross stitch as it looks hard. Any tips before I start?

Hi Kelly. I’m so excited that you are starting your first project. My advice would be to read the instructions carefully so you know how to start. Also, make sure to check how many strands of thread to work with. Sometimes different symbols can have different numbers of threads. Try to make sure you make your x’s the same every time. For example, top left of the square to bottom right, then the top leg is bottom left to top right. Take your time and enjoy. It’s a slow craft. We all make mistakes so try not to let that upset you if it happens. That’s all I can think of for now. What is the project you are working on?

Put in temporary 10 by 10 guide with thread from another kit (Make a grid) Start at upper right corner, count it out. Never start in the center again, what a pain! This one will go fast. It is simple simple. You can do it. It will be great!! Relax, the recipient wil never know where you goofed once or twice and it will be awesome! Have fun!!
