Start up of the Ex - Pierfrancesco "Frankie" Chili Team PSG-1 Ducati 998.5
A clip of the very first start up of the 2004 ex-Pierfrancesco "Frankie" Chili Team PSG-1 "998.5" after the restoration was completed by Tom Irvine of Fuel Race Parts
The engine rebuild was carried out by Biggelaar Special Performance in the Netherlands.
The "998.5" was a hybrid created by Team PSG-1 using the old 998RS chassis that Chili had raced in 2002 and 2003, fitted with a 104mm bore 2004 999RS engine and oval 63.5mm throttle bodies.
After this brief check-over we took the bike to Italy to the Collezione Moto Poggi in Bologna for a retrospective exhibition of Frankie's racing career. Then a couple of weeks later Frankie rode the bike for the first time in 14 years at the ASI Moto Show in Varano.

Thanks for the nice comment Mick. I'll try to organise to get Frankie back out on it at classic events as often as possible.

Yes, Chili and crew chief Domenico Brigaglia created a bike that was, in effect, a 998F02. 998 chassis combined with 104mm bore 999 engine, 63.5mm oval throttle bodies - same as on the 998F02. Around 195HP
