Finally, someone using "Auto" , I use it religiously as a starting point and work from there. Great to see you use it !

Wow what a edit that went from a dark boring photo into a photo that begs and needs a good frame, and a large print to hang on any wall . that really catches the eye

Thanks! Just so you know, I don't ever soft proof. If I did a video on it, it's because I had to. It's actually not something I ever do or believe needs to be done. Best!

Great video, Matt, even I'm not fan of sky replacement. I mean so far I want to keep my photo as there are, reflecting what I saw on site, even it wasn't dramatic/fantastic... light. Anyway, this is rather a personal opinion.

Photography and photo editing should be whatever you want for your photo. For my photos I want the best possible look, and how I got there is fairly irrelevant for me personally. But your photos should reflect what you want from them. Thanks!

Great if unintended demo of how cranking up dehaze can be very useful to show up sensor dust spots!

Love your teaching method. One question that has bothered me regarding raw edit. You worked on the raw in LR then to PS. You brought the photo now a PSD or TIFF back to LR. The photo is no longer raw. I do this but have been told this is not correct and should do all raw in LR then to PS. If expect to do more raw would need to move to PS as smart object. Can you clear up this concept for me? Thank you. Hope to attend another of your workshops.

Hi. Any time you go to PS it will no longer be a raw file. A Smart Object doesn't change that or give you any benefit in my opinion. There's no harm in no longer having a raw file. I can print it or save it as a JPG just as good as anything else. Hope that helps.

I can see why you took the photo but the exposure is puzzling. Did you spot meter on the sunlit area?

Not sure. It was raining windy and lightning and constantly moving around. Nothing was blown out or overly dark so it’s a win in my book. Composition first. Exposure will usually take care of itself.
