I actually understood about 95% of the story without the subtitles and even with new words I managed to understand them based on the context of the sentence 🎉

Oh this is awesome! I just spent 5 weeks in Argentina. I've been using duolingo for 5 years to learn Spanish. I felt so lost because everyone speaks so fast. I didn't know all of the words in this but the spanish subtitles helped me understand pretty much every statement. Definitely will be watching all videos on this channel!

I’ve also been using Duolingo for sometime but when someone speaks I can’t get what they are saying, so I decided to switch to having a Spanish teacher. I’ve been learning for a month now and i think I’m getting better at hearing.

Duolingo is pretty much useless. You're wasting your time. You can study on Duolingo for the rest of your life, and you will never learn Spanish.

I understood about 99% listening without subtitles. It also helped me to better read Spanish. Then I’ll find out the parts with words I never heard before. I saved this so I can listen again.

There wouldn't really be such a thing as a native English speaker, since English as a first language is spoken in many different countries and the pronunciations will be different. I didn't notice any mispronunciations, I'm a US English speaker.

@@KernowFay​​⁠​⁠​⁠ There are many countries in the world where English is the first language (Google). Look at pronunciation differences just between the ones you're probably familiar with: like US & Canada or US & England.

I can recommend the Michel Thomas method for understanding the structure of Spanish, backing it up with Pimsleur and Duolingo for reading. Finally, listening to spoken Spanish (like here) adds the finishing touches. Michel Thomas was amazing for me. I also have Paul Noble Spanish but he's just copied Michel Thomas and MT is better.

El español es un idioma hermoso. Effectively utilizing tools is key. I'm contemplating using some powerful aids for my independent learning journey, like DeepL, Immersive Translate, and more.

I enjoyed this, will be checking out the series. Thanks. The English narrator mispronounced the word “read” however when Lucas reads on weekends; the action is in the present tense and should be pronounced as “reed,” not as “red” which is past tense.

I actually caught that, too and questioned whether I was translating it correctly. So I went to Google Translate which of course translates it as READ which can be pronounced either way. I'm so glad I'm not learning English. 😁

it's more Like "neutral Spanish" neutral Spanish does not have an accent so it is easier to understand.

This is mostly great, but somethings you forget and do it the English way and have the adjective before the noun. For instance, at 1:09 you have nuevas canciones when it should be canciones nuevas. It happens other times, too. Please fix that for your learners, please.
