Jay what I will suggest is that you purchase a dedicated UPS intended only for the Starlink modem. So that in a span of millisecond the power will not be disconnected and restarting the modem will not happen. Also it will protect the circuit from sudden surge of voltage.
Watching this, while being in Siargao (in General Luna) via Starlink of the Airbnb. Thank you for the impressions and all the videos, we came found Siargao because of the surf and found your channel on the way. It really is an amazing island, we really don't want to leave
I used Stainless steel bolts, washers, and nuts and it solves the rust issue. I also have zero issues with rain and stormy/cloudy days as it maintained full speed
You could put Vulcaseal or other water sealant to those mounting bolts to protect them from salty weather and probably slow down the rusting/ oxidation process. Nice setup there! I love combining technology with nature so one of my ultimate dream is to live in self-sufficient off-grid home in a vast wilderness, along the river, or in an island like that by the seashore.

Waited a bit after watching your Starlink purchase then bought one. Expensive but worth it. Less hassle from grumbled sounds when making phonecalls. We covered the bolts with sealant to protect from rusting. Took only 5 days to arrive by DHL to Batangas from USA. Happy with Starlink - thank you Ellon Musk for entering the Philippines.

You're living my dream dude. I wish to have a family too and live off grid with solar power and just be away from city and have quiet and peaceful life. Wish you and your family the best.
i saw your video when you first got starlink and set it up, i ordered one right after i watched ! so happy with it, I'm on biliran island and internet has sucked every way i tried for 8 years. After the starlink arrived i had it up and running in 3 minutes on my terrace and have loved it ever since. today me and my wife put it up on the roof finally, we wanted to get the roof all spot primed and repainted before we put the dishy up there, it took us 5 minutes to screw it down with some silicone caulk on the screws and away we go ! running the obstruction deal in the app now, it takes 6 hours or so, i expect no obstructions now, we had a little bit sitting on the terrace.
We have starlink and have had it for a couple of years now. Well worth it for rural living!
Poppy listens carefully he is so cute. Thank you for this video .
Something to add, we purchased starlink but didn't have a place to set it up (sitting in Cebu City) so we canceled our service. we were able to get it re-established within an hour once we found a house outside of the city, so if people are coming over here for a few months at a time they could buy the system and cancel it when they leave then just get it going again once they are back.

Dude, have you ever tried it in the city? Im from central cebu, so I was wondering if it works well in the city.
@Matthew-uv7bt

When we scanned with the app it basically laughed at us saying no way. If you have roof access and no tall buildings or trees around then it should work great. but if you are in a condo or don't have a full sky view its not possible.@@justleanonme77
Puppy needs his own segment now!
Ty 14:25 for making the whole purchase and set up of starlink so clear and simple.🙏
We'll really miss the Phillipines when you travel elsewhere. I hope your daughter will enjoy your travels as much as you do.
Thank you for this review and an update with its price… im sure it will go cheaper once i get back home someday and live off the grid… starlink and the solar panels is a must 🤗
Appreciate the input Jay! 👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you for this insight on how Starlink would perform here in the philippines!
Thanks for sharing. Definitely must have. Shout out to poppy
Great update video and Poppy you were awesome, cute shark costume. 👍👍❤❤
nice to see you guys settled again......
if you have electronic gadgets, a UPS (for pc, cp, tablet, routers) or an AVR (fridge, TV, stereos, etc) is a must for areas where power regularly fluctuates.
Thanks! Thanks for the info!
Poppy is an expert doing the advert 😁. Thanks for great information 😊
Thanks for your detailed video.
Wow ! hi tech and low maintenance U got ur money's worth. Thank you for free tutorial😊
those solar pannels are really cooool!! I really want that tooo... having a weak router is a good thing too.. that means weaker radiation inside the house... I'm turning off router at home to rest our bodies in EMF etc. I also change the power and signa strength of the router to lessen possible health risks.
Very informative! Thank you Jay.

Thank you for this content brother. I am completely satisfied now. I will buy this soon. 😍😍😍
Hello! Thank you for making this video and for reviewing this tech. To measure how stable its latency is, could you please try doing any multiplayer PC gaming ? Maybe you could try Counter Strike 2 or a fighting games like Street fighter, shooter and fighting games are ping-dependent so we can get a real-world feel for its performance. Looking forward to you next video.
nice review. I am planing to buy for gamming
Wow, that's amazing results for Starlink!!
Very informative,thanks man.
thank you for your honest opinion living in Badoc Ilocos Norte PLDT internet is not very good lately
Great video! Will it still work for example that you bring it to a different place? Did you need to xhange the plan for it to work? Thank you
Thank you !!! Thank you!! so much!! it's a big help! for making a decision.
Great video. Makes me wanna go ahead and move to baler now. Does it work if you bring the whole equipment outdoors or in a different location?
It's great, no complaints at all.👍

THANKS FOR THE INFO ABOUT STARLINK.KEEP SAFE YOU GUYS.
Should've oiled the bolts and put large clumps of silicone gel on each bolt. 😉
I have that problem in my home losing signals when I go to my bedroom. I bought a google mesh, and I have a signal everywhere in my house. I used to use an extender but it doesn't seem to work here in my house in Maryland
Nice review. Did you happen to mount that satellite dish in the roof? also, how long is that cable wire? since you need to connect the dish to the modem right?
Got mine for my location in Guimaras, it's my backup as our fiber is easily disrupted by storms and falling trees as we are 300 meters away from the main road. We used to have a satellite service as it was the only thing available at the time we moved, which was php8.5k for only 35Mbps/down 5Mbps/up and a data cap of 500Gb lol, eventually we got our Starlink + Fiber 700Mbps and having both was still cheaper! I believe the upload speed is limited to a max of 25Mbps because of the hardware, as experienced by my previous satellite setup it is definitely hardware-related described to me by the operators, thought at 25Mbps it's still great for calls.
Hi J, Sasha and Story. you're obviously very happy with your service from Starlink. Can I ask if you think it would be reliable enough to do online teaching there in the Philippines?
With the discount/promotion they did. Their website has been having problems perhaps with the volume of people getting it. It was good you purchased it earlier.
This is absolutely helpful! Been thinking about switching to Starlink and my question, what if I’m in the city, would that still work? Not an island.
Wow, Starlink connect islands together.
Thanks for this good information 😎👍
Awesome in depth review, i love how you're living in a remote island but have such amazing internet technology. It's such an interesting juxtaposition. Anyways, love your content as always. Much love from Negros Island 🫰🏻
you should change your bolts to a stainless ones to avoid corrosion and paint them with island primer red lead. The metal will last for a very long time, proven and tested. But before painting the dish stand clean it properly with a sandpaper or rust remover

ISPs save on bandwidth by lowering the upload speed thus they can offer higher download speeds. Most people are only concerned with download speed unless they’re vlogers or gamers.
Finallyyyyyy Thank youuuuuuuuuuuuu
Thank for your honest Insights :-)
Great video. I'm an architect here in Metro Manila. I'll be doing a house in the province of Rizal, and will be forced to use Starlink as the other ISPs are still not available in the village. I noticed that your roofs there are concrete? Off topic, how are those concrete slabs doing so far? Any leaks? Cracks? Maintenance issues?
old school satellite would be geostationary , this would mean the distance from your house and the satellite it connects to is extremely far away, and starlink is low earth orbit thus able to lower latency, and the new starlink v2 satellite has "space lasers" allowing satellites to connect to each other via lasers also increasing its capability
Thank you so much. I'mma get me a Starlink.
blessings to you and your family 👍👍👍
How were you able to get a subscription setup? We're on our 2nd day of trying to get a subscription and it's getting an error every single time.
Thanks for review. If you had the ability to do again, you could have returned your first equipment during the initial 30 day free trial period and then repurchased at the new 10,000 peso lower price.
Love your review! If I may ask, this is their residential plan right?
starlink is a tested brand mostly used on RV's. it survived a -40 degrees celsius weather. some model have motor where you can rotate remotely.
Thanks for the video. It was quite an educational. I wonder if you have residential or regional roaming subscription.
Try to find 316 stainless bolts to use.. they won't rust when exposed. Normally found at marine stores as they are used on oceangoing boats. You're near saltwater, which is the most likely reason for fast corrosion.
Thank you so much, I found what I want to learn.
Poppy is an elegant dog.
Hello.... just finish watching your honest review with starlink.. can I ask for the link on starlink . Like where to buy the 19k price drop?. And by the way. I just subscribe in your channel. Thank you
Sancha I love Poppy she's wonderful dog.
where did you by the UPS please, I just bought a starlink here in California and planning to bring it to Bicol on April 10. Is there gonna be a problem like power voltage and subscription plan if I bring it home in the Philippines?
Awesome setup home satellite internet and great for remote work. Elon did it again. What is your running water(drinking also) setup ? probably did vlog about it already.
if you are suffering from lower signal within the area or inside your house it would be highly recommended to use a wifi mesh with two or three meshes inside your house or area. These kind of inexpensive nowadays...
Thank you for the informative review. May I ask where to buy the kit here for only Php19k? Because in Starlink website it still says almost Php30k
Im hearing a lot of people really transitioning to starlink. It’s just super expensive but I guess worth it 🙂

In the province or islands it’s definitely worth it. For us it works out cheaper. Even if you share one dish kit and monthly cost with a next door neighbor you will get fast speeds with Unli data.

Hi mate. Hope all is well? I have recently moved to Isabela province and building our new home. I am looking at Starlink, but can you tell me how much the monthly subscription is? We are paying 1.4K PHP with a local provider for around 40 MB. Great channel buddy. Warm regards, Simon
wow, the latency is below 30ms now. the reason why i havent buy one was high latency value(120ms). im gonna order one soon. thanks for the info.
Thanks for the review. Just noticed that the cable from the Starlink dish is rubbing directly against the corner of your cement roof. With the amount of wind your place gets, that cable's going to get cut in no time... Have you considered running the cable through a plastic/metal pipe for added protection? Cheers!
@justaguy-69

its a pretty good quality cable but you are correct, he should slide a short length of garden hose over that spot! i just put mine on the roof today after 90 days use off my terrace
What if I move it around 500 meters from my original home? Will it still work? Or is it mobile
poppy is soo cute wen asking for more attention ❤
wow that latency! really worth it.
Being on island you should have used stainless steel bolts and nuts because of the saltwater it rust steel in no time
Please advise what is your status on your land and new build ,,If you have already told others I am sorry I have missed the news ,,Pray all is well with you and family
