I bought the original soundtrack after seeing this in London in January, 1985, and I guess I saw & heard Stephanie Lawrence on stage. This version is the original--I still listen to it today.

towringer I also met her in Alhambra Theater in bradford and she sang part of the song to me back stage . RIP

Frances Ruffelle is amazing! I don't care what people say. The emotion she brings to Starlight and as Eponine of course in Les Miz is undeniable. She's my second inspiration after Idina Menzel of whom I have adored since I was five when Wicked first came out. And the list goes on: Bernadette Peters, Barbra Streisand, Donna Murphy, Sutton Foster, the latter being more recent discoveries. :)

Yes it is, I've got all this on CD Ray Shell, Frances Ruffelle, Stephanie Lawrence, Jeffrey Daniels! Much better than the new version ay!

I completely agree. I not only have the CD of the Original London Cast, but after seeing the show, in April 1984, l also have it on vinyl!

Does anybody know where i can find the sheet music for this score ?

Try music notes, or amazon has a book I think

😣 honestly, Pearl always peed me off.

Man the original really suffered from having too many lighthearted denouement songs didn't it? It's been like 20 minutes since we heard the climax of the damn play, I love these songs but get it over with!
